Profile

OVA Timeline

Nahato is a child of the Phantom Tribe. He has the traditional blue skin, large eyes, a mop of brown hair, and wears a colorful tunic. More often than not, he can be found at the side of Galus, acting as a protégé to the Phantom ruler or perhaps as a simple companion. While Nahato can be described as cute, that cuteness cannot hide his sinister side.

When not at Galus’ side, Nahato may be doing tasks on the behalf of his leader, such as using his Phantom techniques to sabotage Alliance missions. He is one of the most dangerous types of saboteurs, using his childish appearance to make his enemies underestimate the threat he imposes, a lesson learned by Shayla, Makoto, and Fujisawa.

The relationship that Nahato shares with Galus is very unclear. Nahato appears to wield some authority in the Phantom Tribe, giving orders to others, without a single questioning look. It is perhaps that he is being groomed to be Galus’ successor or at least his protégé. However, there is also the distinct possibly that their relationship is much more, even physical. However, the only people who really know this are Nahato and Galus, and it is unlikely they will be telling us about it.

With the end of the Phantom Tribe’s (Or at least Galus’) plot to plunge El-Hazard into darkness, both Nahato and Galus’ fate have been subject to debate. Whether or not Galus is actually dead leaves all sorts of possibilities open. If Galus did, in fact, meet his demise, does that mean that Nahato has assumed the reigns of authority? And if so, what will he do with them? Will he continue his mentor’s work toward revenge, or will he decide to focus more on his people? Were there factions that opposed Galus, or at least Galus’ methods and what will that mean for the Nahato?

We may not have heard the last of the Phantom Tribe, and if they do resurface, we may be seeing Nahato once again.

Manga Timeline

Not much to say here. Nahato appears in ONE (Count ‘em O-N-E) panel in the entire Manga, and he doesn’t even have a line. All his appearance signifies that he is around, but not much else.

Videogame Timeline

It is unclear at this time, whether or not this character appears in this timeline.
