VHS

The Wanderers comes in 7 cassettes. These were originally available as individual tapes, but Pioneer no longer sells anything except the boxset officially.

included cards. I'll note that the picture they construct is often associated with The Wanderers and is also one of the few wallscrolls

available to El-Hazard. This picture must be a general favorite. Here's 5 of the 8:

LASER DISC

The Wanderers comes in 7 LD's.

Each LD after the first contain four episodes.
The LDs seem to be made in a format called CLV (Constant Linear Velocity), giving more minutes per disk side, but reduces the compatibility of the features when compared to a CAV LD, which can be overriden by a better LD Player.
US Version Scans

The real difference between the Japanese forms and US versions is merely cosmetic; while the Japanese covers seem to always contain the words to the speech made by Ifurita in the OVA, the US versions have a more calm, single or rainbow colow scheme to them.

This first Laser Disk is comparatively watered down in comparison to the OVA LD, but it at least has inserts.

This second Laser Disk is not much better. It had very little inside. It could be because of the seller, or it could be because Pioneer decided not to do much more with it. Either way, there is only the box, LD, and the card.

The Laser Disc Boxset. If you have expected stuff, prepare to be dissapointed. It is basically a box with LDs inside. The cards are not inside as well. The Box

VCD

As weird as it may seem, The Wanderers has an official VCD distribution boxset in Maylasia and possibly other countries! There is nothing special about it; it's terribly plain. The 9 VCDs are carelessly wrapped in plastic and thrown in a plastic box just large enough to hold them all in a pile. It is only known for an English Dub version.

DVD

  • Wanderers comes in 4 DVDs.

  • Each DVD contains a folded paper insert, and has a "reversible cover."

  • Each disc contains only a meager handful of "extras", none that are incredibly worthwhile.

  • There are two "Easter Eggs" contained among them, but they're about as entertaining as a PowerPoint presentation.
