I agree, that anime is more entertaining and enlightning than most of the dribble that's been on TV the last 20 years or so. 
At least, it doesn't pander to the lowest common denominator! I had to chuckle when I read this. A lot of anime panders to some pretty low common denominators, in my opinion.  It's simply a matter of recognizing just WHAT constitutes a low common denominator. After all, the goal for just about ANY product is to get as many people as possible to buy it. Japan has different lowest common denominators, not necessarily better ones. A vast majority of anime is rife with sexism, Lolicon, fanservice, and trite plots. I'm not sure I'd like to put any of these attributes on any sort of pedistal.

Heh. You have me, in part, to thank for these. I was the one who originally requested them of Ghost of Dawn, the site's maintainer. I only asked for one Ifurita, but she was nice enough to draw both of them. If anyone on this page would like to request she draw other El-Hazard kitties, be sure to follow the instructions on her website. I don't think she's taking requests at the moment, but it'll say there whether she is or not. Actually, I've long wished that I could ask for more El-Hazard kitties myself. Sadly, I've kinda used up my quota. ^_^;;

Hmm... Well, I assume that the actual article will consist of more than a character list? ^_^
The stuff you have here looks pretty good. I like some of the turns of phrase that you used to describe some of the characters. I do have one suggestion, though - the way that you have the characters listed seems to imply that all of them are equally prominent in the show. To some, this might be kind of a turn-off, as enormous casts can become awkward to deal with. I would suggest that you divide the cast lists up into major and minor character groups. Characters like Ifurita, the Earthers, the Priestesses, Alielle, and possibly Ura qualify as major characters, while Diva, Rune Venus, Fatora, and the Shadow Tribe are less prominent.
You may also want to provide character blurbs for Galus, Nahato, and possibly Kuraya, rather than just lumping them all into "The Phantom Tribe". Plus, as long as you have an entry for "The Phantom Tribe", I'd think it would be worthwhile to have one for "The Bugrom" as well. Lastly, you might want to provide a character entry for Katsuo/Groucho. While he is just a Bugrom grunt, he does play major individual roles in the Alternative World, and to a degree also in OAV2.
Now, some nitpicking. Under Phantom Tribe, you mentioned that they have the ability to teleport. I, for one, don't believe that is true; every instance they've seemed to "disappear" could easily be attibutable to their powers of illusion. Galus and other main characters chatter on and on about the Tribe's powers of illusion, but no one ever mentions anything about teleportation. So, I doubt that they can.
I guess that's all I have to suggest. Good luck to you on the remainder of your article!

Welcome back, Rosh! Even though there's a lot to read, I'd highly recommend that you try. There's quite a bit that indrectly involves your character, mainly involving Lana (Lar's character) and the sadistic bastards that the royal family apparently hires to guard their dungeons. ^_^;;
I don't have time to write a summary right now. Perhaps I do it tomorrow, if no one beats me to the punch. Again, though, nothing compares to reading it yourself to pick up on the details that a summary might miss!

Shaylas Raven and Panicpaladin, just some slight corrections:
In your recent postings, Afura has noted that she doesn't know of any way to return to Earth, and that there is no one that guards or controls it.
Well, the first isn't really true - both Ifurita and Makoto have successfully used the Eye to travel to Earth. But it's possible that Afura was just lying to prevent them from getting their hopes up; after all Makoto and Ifurita are not on El-Hazard at the moment, and there's no telling when (if ever) they will return.
As for the latter, the twin princesses can control the Eye. Of course, they can't control it well enough to send anyone to Earth, so Afura might have lied to cover that, as well.
Just want to make sure that you know yer schtuff!

When given the opportunity to, I usually stay up until 2 am, or even as late as 3 am. Those opportunities are rare, though, as my work schedule has me getting up each day at 6 am. ^_^;; So, I typically am in bed by midnight.
On the weekends, though, I tend to be a night owl.
