I'm afraid that no El-Hazard pairing has made me go O_o more than Xel's classic Makoto/Jinnai preference (subtlely illustrated in her recently posted fanfiction - great fic BTW, Xel!). You DO know what your underling has been up to, don't you Mister Jinnai?  I was also kinda freaked out by the Shayla/Jinnai pairing in "Fault" by Fish. Actually, I'm kinda freaked out by ANY romance involving Jinnai. He just seems like the type for whom love is pretty darned low on his list of priorities... I'm really just glad that I've never seen a Nanami/Jinnai pairing.  Usually siblings are among the first to get it on once the hentai crowd sinks their teeth into a series... El-Hazard has remained blessedly free of THAT particular perversion.

Well, I found one neat site with a Shayla sprite. He also has Tenchi and Trigun sprites that look pretty good.

I might work on some El-Hazard sprites after I finish making the El-Hazard smileys. They're a tad bit more difficult than I thought... the 15 X 15 pixel size is tough to master. But give me time, I will DEFEAT it! That's pretty awesome! Do you suppose this guy would be willing to design some 50-odd sprites for each character in the game?

Actually, I was under the impression that 26 was a standard "season". Which, I think, would make better sense - that's half a year of new material, followed by half a year of reruns, for a weekly show. 13 episode series are relatively new.
But in any case, I've seen several shows that deviate from the 13/26 standard pattern. None come to mind offhand, but I know I've got a few 24-episode series even in my own personal anime collection.
As for Scrapped Princess, I've heard about this series, and even read an article on it in Newtype USA. If you wanna get the fansubs, better snap 'em up quick! This looks like a show that will probably be licensed in short order.

We should make a sort of "Street Fighter" esque GameEngine to handle these problems. Or convert the characters into MUGEN or KOF91 characters. That's a great idea! ... If only I had any artistic talent to speak of.  Yeah, there are a couple a fighting engines available that you can dump your own sprites into I believe? I've seen people make their own chara.
And on that note, if this fighter wwere to be on the level of something like Marvel vs Capcom, would Makoto or Jinnai be able to summon and use things like the Eye of God and Ifurita (assuming she wouldn't be in the game herself)?
Reminds of the oft rumored Capcom vs AIC game. ^_^; How dare you even suggest that Ifurita not be in the game! She's GOTTA be there! Both of her! And the possibility that she's be an overpowered character is meaningless. If you've played Marvel vs Capcom, then you KNOW that fights that should by all rights be extremely one-sided are still playable. I wanna see a Nanami vs Ifurita grudge match where Nanami kicks Ifurita's ass! Nanami: *Standing triumphant over Ifurita's battered and unconsious form* That'll teach you to steal my boyfriend, you wind-up hussy! *Holds a ladle up in triumph* Never underestimate the power of Super Chef!

Ah, you're referring to Subaru, one of the Byakko Seven, who had the ability to restore a person's physical body to the state it was at during any point within their lifetime - though at a cost.  Subaru, of the Byakko SevenThere's a resemblence, I guess - particularly in the bust line. A much better match, in my opinion, is Hyatt, from Excel Saga:  Hyatt, of ACROSSFor a while after I first saw her, but had not yet managed to memorize her name, I referred to her as "That Ifurita-lookin' girl". Even better than Hyatt, though, is Sylia Stingray, from Bubblegum Crisis 2040. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of her of my own to share. Here's the best I could find on short notice, from someone's BGC2040 site:  Sylia, of the Knight SabersIronically, in the original BGC series, there was a strong implication that Sylia was actually an android.  Anyone have any other Ifurita-look-alikes to share?

As much as I like the Wanderers, I gotta go with classic OAV Jinnai. He's just got that bloodthirsty edge that keeps his evil from becoming TOO comic. TV Jinnai is pretty much Jinnai Lite. Same great taste, but less filling!
(Oh, God, I don't WANT to know what Xel is gonna make of that last line... O_o)
Ahem. Anyway, I love both Jinnai's, but OAV Jinnai just seems the better designed of the two.
