I'm mentioning this in case anyone's interested.

Someone must either be printing these from his home or he lucked into a warehouse collection, because there's a volume of the El-Hazard OAV art book available on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3255513903&category=1345

The reason I'm scratching my head is that I saw this up for bid two nights ago and waited a bit too long to bid on it. This morning I went out again and behold, the guy had a second copy up for bid--this one I bought via "pay it now" for $15. (Given how hard it's been to get the other EH art books, to say nothing of the Tenchi Muyo OAV art books, I considered this a steal). And now the guy's got a THIRD copy up for bidding.

*happily changes the "RIPHISTHROATOUT" post to a nice one*

Not only that, he also had this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3255303391

*points to the character on the upper right*
Guess who's there?? ^_^

Well, and since the guy actually, finally, replied to me(2nd try to contact him!) thats now all mine. Minemineminemineminemineminemine. Nevermind that I probably pay more for shipping than for the actual item =P But artbooks are expensive, after all. ^^' And usually more expensive than that.

Yes, unlike it contains artwork like the later Hunter X Hunter chapters, it is definitely a steal. And if its anything like expected, then it'd be a steal for $25, both the OVA and the TV one.

What is interesting is that I neither saw either ever before. Not even the actual artwork on the cover.Mystery Mystery. Ohwell, if its a cheat, I'll be very sad =/

It really is true, what they say in "All I ever needed to know, I learned from Hentai."

The size of the female bust is indirectly propornate to their age. In other other words the younger a girl is the larger her breasts are. (also known as the Lina Inverse effect)

It all makes sense now... No wonder you're considered unmarriable after 25 in Japan... you got no boobs left by then! Gee I guess I'd better hurry before mine disappear completely!

Well, true, but you can question if you found something new by checking out what the site already has, which brings me to another point...

If you ever find something you think the site DOESN'T have, please notify me.  If you can scan it -- or even rip it if it's a CD of some sort -- that's even better.  The only way to truly improve this place as a whole is to combine the efforts of many, after all.

P.S.  I've spent over USD$1,500 on El-Hazard.  "Scary."  :P

Well, I already asked if you would need scans of the mangas. ^_^ That was me. So no worry. I have as much interest of supporting EH as everyone else here. it was my first show, and I'm still loyal to it. I only did not join this forum when it started because I missed it. Repeatedly. No clue why.

If you don't have it already, I could also scan some stuff of the wanderers DVD box if needed once it arrives, getting that as well. but I doubt the need for that =(

As for the money thing...I shouldn't be off that much. I'm in germany, so all EH I bought that was english gives me atleast 5$ shipping - if I am lucky. So, for EH, I probably have paid 100-200$ shipping. I have bought wanderers three times, OVA1+2 two times including the DVD and ALT one time(too much). Add some artbooks, and I'm not far of that number =P Tho I'd most likely not reach it. Yet. Would an TV Ifurita figure be on ebay, then I would, because I would move hell and heaven to outbid Spanner. XD

YEAY. Lets all impress ourselves with "who is the biggest no-life who spends too much money on el hazard". Happy, wee ^^

Now now, remember that anime, manga and hentai are an abstraction not a reflection of real life!

BTW, the "Lina Inverse effect" refers to Slayers. At 15, Lina Inverse is the butt of many small breast jokes. Where as Amelia, who is (supposed to be) 12 years old is hella stacked. Just like Young Rune vesus older Rune! An anime anomally. ^^;

I've probably spent a grand total of $200-250 on El Hazard related swag. Sundry VHS tapes of episodes that my friend hadn't taped for me, OVA DVD set, Viz english manga, TV artbook, AIC Anthology comic.... I think that's about it. I'm not really much of a merchandise/collectables person. I spend all my money on videos, DVDs and the occasional manga. ^^;

I try not to think about how much money I've spent the last two years on anime, manga and related items. It's much safer on my sanity that way. ^^;

There was a T-shirt at Archon this year that read:

Anime--Drugs Would Be Cheaper

To which we all say "Amen".

Anime is indeed an expensive hobby for us. But just imagine what it would be like living in Japan, where DVDs are anywhere from $80-120 (equivalent) each and only have 1-3 episodes at best?
