OPENING CREDITS

1. EXT - FOREST – DAWN

A GIRL with pale skin and light blue hair is piloting a transport, slightly unsteadily, alongside a river.

GIRL

Where is he? I’ve got to find him? He can’t just disappear... Oh... I’ve never driven one of these things before...

She hears a splash. A claw becomes visible at the rear of the transport.

GIRL

Someone there?

A shadowy, insectoid figure jumps onto the deck.

GIRL

(more threatening)

You! Identify yourself! What land are you from?

The figure leaps at her.

GIRL

Aaah!

She falls down, and looks back up the figure, now towering over her.

GIRL

What do you want?

The figure’s face becomes visible. It is GROUCHO.

GROUCHO

-Bugrom language-

The GIRL adopts a terrified expression. She screams, and the transport spins out of control, into the water.

2. EXT – FLORISTICA – DAY

Some establishing shots of the city and the palace. We see MAKOTO’s house- a small building adjacent to the palace, with some very un-El-Hazard-like satellite dishes on the roof.

NANAMI

(O.S.)

Good morning, Makoto!

3. INT – MAKOTO’S HOUSE – MAKOTO’S BEDROOM – DAY

MAKOTO is lying in bed, asleep. NANAMI is sat opposite with a basket of food, looking at MAKOTO’s collection of technology.

NANAMI

Hmm... Look at all this stuff. It’s amazing, the way you keep building junk.

MAKOTO sits up.

MAKOTO

(yawns)

Oh... good morning.

NANAMI

Look. I brought you some breakfast.

MAKOTO

Thank you.

NANAMI sits on the edge of MAKOTO’s bed.

NANAMI

And there’s miso soup too.

MAKOTO

Yum.

NANAMI

(blushing)

If someone saw us, they might think we were married!

MAKOTO

(shocked)

Huh? Um... think so?

NANAMI

Today I’m running a sweetheart special! Thirty percent off!

MAKOTO

(gasps, then bows his head)

I should have known it wasn’t free.

4. EXT – THE FUJISAWA RESIDENCE – DAY

We see the FUJISAWAS’ house- much larger than MAKOTO’s. MIZ can be heard laughing.

5. INT – THE FUJISAWA RESIDENCE – LIVING ROOM - DAY

MIZ is staring at her wedding ring, laughing away. SHAYLA and AFURA are seated.

MIZ

(laughs)

Oh, goodness! My left hand has felt so happy recently!

SHAYLA

(annoyed)

Sheesh. Is she ever gonna stop flaunting that silly ring?

AFURA

Now, Shayla. Let her live it up. Miz and Mr Fujisawa have finally gotten married.

SHAYLA

And before she hit thirty. Close call!

AFURA

(nervous)

Yes... oh, well, your home is simply stunning. If I could live in a place like this, I’d snag a husband too.

MIZ

(still smiling)

Oh, and guess what else? My sweet, sweet Masamichi insists that we climb Mount Lilicoco together for the honeymoon... even though I did tell him I want to take a trip abroad...

SHAYLA

(to AFURA)

Hey, isn’t she running kind of late?

AFURA

Huh?

SHAYLA

Her successor!

AFURA

For heaven’s sake, don’t mention it to her. Keep quiet for now, or you can count on Miz to turn our visit into a search party.

SHAYLA

Good point.

MIZ notices SHAYLA and AFURA talking amongst themselves, and confronts them, annoyed.

MIZ

Hmm! Afura, Shayla-Shayla! Are you listening to me?

SHAYLA & AFURA

Uh... of course, Miz!

MIZ beams again.

6. INT – MAKOTO’S HOUSE – MAKOTO’S BEDROOM – DAY

NANAMI is examining one of MAKOTO’s artefacts- a domed object.

NANAMI

Hmm... What’s this? A TV?

NANAMI goes to touch the object.

MAKOTO

No! Don’t touch it!

NANAMI

Oh! Why not? What is this thing?

MAKOTO

It’s a dimensional transporter I’ve been working on. It doesn’t function right.

NANAMI

Oh.

MAKOTO

Careful, or you might end up in some weird dimension with no way to return home.

NANAMI

Yikes!

NANAMI recoils, knocking a second object, a diamond held inside a triple-ringed structure, onto the floor.

NANAMI

Oh! Makoto!

MAKOTO

Don’t worry about that thing. It was a relic found at some excavation site. I have no idea what it is, but it’s harmless.

The three rings in the object slide closer together, and the diamond spins like a compass needle, pointing ahead.

NANAMI

It’s moving!

MAKOTO

It’s never done this! What the heck is it doing?

NANAMI gasps nervously.

MAKOTO

It looks like it’s pointing over there!

NANAMI squeals.

MAKOTO

Nanami, what’s the matter?

NANAMI

The... thingamabob...

NANAMI points to the dimensional transporter, now lit up.

MAKOTO

But how could that b... I’m positive I didn’t turn that on!

7. INT – THE FUJISAWA RESIDENCE – LIVING ROOM - DAY

FUJISAWA has now joined SHAYLA, AFURA and MIZ. They are sat around a table, having drinks.

FUJISAWA

Welcome, ladies!

SHAYLA/AFURA

Thanks!

AFURA

I hope we’re not intruding.

SHAYLA

By the way, mind if I ask? How’s the married life treating you?

FUJISAWA

Um... gee, you’re putting me on the spot. It’s great... (laughs nervously) That right, Miz?

SHAYLA

Ha... He didn’t say ‘Miss’. Hear that?

AFURA

They’re married now, silly. He wouldn’t call her that.

MIZ

Sweetheart?

FUJISAWA

Umm... yes, my dear?

MIZ

Qawoor’s late. I’m worried, aren’t you?

FUJISAWA

Uh, well... should I be?

MIZ

But she assured me that she would stop by our home this afternoon.

SHAYLA

Well... the day’s still young.

AFURA

It’s early yet. The sun’s still high in the sky.

We see the sun through one of the windows. One of the drinks on the table casts a shadow. Fade to later – the cup is empty, and the shadow has got longer. MIZ is now drumming her fingers on the table impatiently, sighing.

SHAYLA

This priestess... what’s she like, Miz? Tell us all about this Qahoon chick.

AFURA

Shayla, it’s Qawoor Towles.

MIZ

Oh, well... She’s the descendant of an unknown tribe. Top marks at the seminary... (more enthusiastic) And the girl’s merely seventeen!

SHAYLA and AFURA gasp.

SHAYLA

Seventeen?

AFURA

The youngest one so far.

MIZ

Compared to you two, she’s just a child. Careful! (laughs) Before you know it, you hotshots will be old maids! Better catch husbands while you have a chance! Hurry!

She laughs again, displaying her wedding ring for all to see.

SHAYLA

Yeah, whatever.

AFURA

Well, the young lady’s lineage isn’t important. What counts is her ability to perform her duties as a priestess.

MIZ

Naturally. She’s flawless. She’s also sweet tempered and quite a charmer. (laughs) I couldn’t have found a more perfect replacement!

AFURA

My, such praise.

SHAYLA

Maybe she’s too good to be true. I mean, it’s pretty sloppy to be this late for an appointment.

AFURA gasps.

MIZ

Hopefully nothing’s happened... (to SHAYLA and AFURA) Please be darlings and go look for Qawoor for me...

AFURA

Miz, stop. There’s nothing to worry about. She’s simply running late.

SHAYLA

Yeah, what’s a few hours? After all, we’ve waited for this for years!

AFURA gasps again.

MIZ

(annoyed)

You’ve been waiting?

AFURA raises a hand to her head, as SHAYLA tries to extricate herself.

SHAYLA

Uh... no... what I meant was... oh...

AFURA

(changing the subject)

So, tell us. Where are you planning to take your honeymoon? Didn’t you mention going abroad?

MIZ

(brightening)

Let’s see... I think Beansland or the Duchy of Perallia is the ideal trip. (to FUJISAWA) Right, sweetie?

FUJISAWA

(a little nervously)

But... I thought we were gonna climb Mount Lilicoco, hon.

SHAYLA

(irritated)

You won’t be going anywhere if what’s-her-face doesn’t show up.

MIZ

(annoyed again)

Say what?

SHAYLA and AFURA groan. SHAYLA has done it again.

AFURA

Say, Miz, are these new honeymoon travel pamphlets? My, what romantic settings!

MIZ

(brightens again)

Yep! I picked those!

8. EXT – DERELICT BUGROM FORTRESS – DAY

Establishing shot: the remains of one of the Bugrom Fortresses destroyed by the Eye of God.

9. INT – DERELICT BUGROM FORTRESS – DAY

JINNAI is directing some BUGROM in the reconstruction work.

JINNAI

Faster, you dogs! Pull!

GROUCHO, ZEPPO and CHICO struggle to erect a column of honeycomb.

GROUCHO

(feebly)

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI

(infuriated)

Put some guts and muscle into it!

The column goes up, just as ZEPPO rests a huge wall of honeycomb against it.

JINNAI

Hey! What are you morons doing?

GROUCHO, ZEPPO and CHICO, aware of the unstable structure they’ve inadvertently created, run from the scene.

JINNAI

Stop!

The structure begins to collapse. JINNAI turns and runs.

JINNAI

Whoa...

Too late. JINNAI is buried under a mound of honeycomb. He emerges from the debris, irate.

JINNAI

You imbeciles!

DIVA

(O.S.)

Mr Jinnai!

JINNAI

(surprised)

Oh...

JINNAI looks around to see DIVA, being carried on her throne by four ZEPPO-TYPES.

DIVA

Construction of the new Bugrom Empire... isn’t going too smoothly, I see.

JINNAI, stands up, clears his throat and dusts himself down.

JINNAI

Leaders like me don’t know the meaning of failure... but I admit, we are running a bit short on bug power.

DIVA

How true.

GROUCHO approaches JINNAI.

GROUCHO

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI

What? You attacked a cruiser? Then that means some loot! Well, how much?

GROUCHO

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI

Why didn’t you plunder the booty, you darn fool?

GROUCHO

(apologetic)

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI

Save your breath! Go back there right now!

10. EXT – FOREST – DAY

GROUCHO and HARPO walk through the forest.

GROUCHO

-Bugrom language-

HARPO

-Bugrom language-

GROUCHO

(pointing)

-Bugrom language-

Suddenly a beam of light whizzes past GROUCHO’s face.

GROUCHO

(surprised)

-Bugrom language-

GROUCHO sees the source of the light. MAKOTO is in the distance, holding his diamond relic, which is now emitting two strong beams of light, which merge into one, pointing in a single direction.

MAKOTO

That’s bizarre... the beam suddenly became brighter...

The beam points straight ahead, towards the river. MAKOTO follows it, until he’s standing on the river’s edge. The beam is pointing to the middle of the river.

MAKOTO

What could this be?

The mists on the water clear, and MAKOTO sees the GIRL floating in the river.

MAKOTO

(gasps)

My God, a woman!

MAKOTO takes his shirt off and swims out to rescue the girl. He takes hold of her, and she makes a noise.

MAKOTO

Still breathing.

11. EXT – FOREST – DAY

Smoke rises from a campfire. MAKOTO is drying the GIRL’s clothes.

MAKOTO

(thinks)

I’ve never seen clothing like that before. I wonder where she’s from...

The GIRL, who MAKOTO has covered with his shirt, stirs.

MAKOTO

Hey, you’re awake.

GIRL

(sitting up)

Where... am I?

She notices that she is only covered by MAKOTO’s shirt, and gasps.

MAKOTO

Um... well, your garments were soaking wet.

GIRL

(blushing)

Oh. Thank you for drying them. And for saving me. I, Qawoor Towles, shall always be grateful. Who are you?

MAKOTO

Um... right, I should have introduced myself. I’m Makoto Mizuhara. Um... by the way...

QAWOOR

Yes?

MAKOTO

How did you end up in the river?

QAWOOR

(suddenly panics)

Oh no! I forgot all about it! This is terrible! Um, can you tell me where we are?

MAKOTO

Sure. We’re in the woods outside of Floristica.

QAWOOR

What? Oh my gosh, I’m so late!

COMMERCIAL BREAK

12. EXT – OUTSIDE THE FUJISAWA RESIDENCE – DAY

We hear MIZ, SHAYLA, AFURA and FUJISAWA in conversation from inside the house.

MIZ

(O.S.)

Listen, we’ve waited long enough. It’s time to go out and look for Qawoor!

FUJISAWA

(O.S.)

You... you mean right now?

SHAYLA

(O.S.)

Aw, crap.

AFURA

(O.S.)

Well.. it’s not unusual for travellers to arrive one of two days late.

MIZ

(O.S.)

She can’t!

MIZ opens the front door.

I’ve planned everything! I scheduled our reservations around her arrival time!

13. INT – THE FUJISAWA RESIDENCE – DAY

MIZ, SHAYLA, AFURA and FUJISAWA are standing by the front door.

AFURA

Reservations so soon? You don’t mean you’ve already made your honeymoon arrangements...

MIZ

(smiling)

I didn’t forget the inauguration ceremony.

SHAYLA

Well, it’s not like there’s a rush to have the ceremony. There’s always a transition period.

MIZ

It’ll be the day after tomorrow.

FUJISAWA

Hmm?

SHAYLA

Huh?

MIZ

Then I’ll have a cruiser waiting to whisk us away right afterwards.

FUJISAWA

What? Doesn’t that seem too soon?

MIZ

(stern)

Dear, is that going to be a problem?

FUJISAWA

Why... um... no, hon.

MIZ turns to the door.

MIZ

Then come on!

14. EXT – ANOTHER PART OF THE FOREST – DAY

MAKOTO and QAWOOR head through the forest. QAWOOR is now wearing MAKOTO’s shirt. He is carrying hers.

MAKOTO

This is a shortcut into town.

QAWOOR

I’m sorry. What a burden I am.

MAKOTO looks at his relic, which is twitching again.

MAKOTO

(thinks)

This thing’s been pointing at her the whole time...

GROUCHO and HARPO emerge from some bushes in front of MAKOTO and QAWOOR.

GROUCHO

-Bugrom language-

Both parties seem as surprised as each other by this meeting.

MAKOTO

It’s the Bugrom! And why now?

GROUCHO

(to HARPO)

-Bugrom language-

HARPO

(to GROUCHO)

-Bugrom language-

GROUCHO and HARPO go to attack. QAWOOR is cowering behind MAKOTO, terrified.

QAWOOR

Big... bugs...

MAKOTO

Keep calm!

QAWOOR screams. The relic lights up.

MAKOTO

What the...

The relic a small explosion which blows GROUCHO and HARPO away. When the dust settles, MAKOTO is lying in a crater. He sits up, and realises QAWOOR is gone.

MAKOTO

Qawoor... What happened to her?

15. EXT – FLORISTICA – OUTSIDE THE SHINONOME DINER – DAY

A shot of NANAMI’s restaurant. A sign in Japanese reads ‘The Shinonome Diner’.

NANAMI

Here you go, ladies! Enjoy!

ALIELLE

(O.S.)

Mmm! This is delicious! It has a weird flavour, but in a good way!

FATORA

(O.S.)

I was beginning to tire of those enormous banquets and gourmet spreads at the palace.

16. INT – THE SHINONOME DINER – DAY

El-Hazard’s favourite couple, ALIELLE and FATORA are seated next to a window. NANAMI is standing nearby.

FATORA

Tasty food. I’m sure we’ll eat here often.

NANAMI

Wonderful.

FATORA

The place has atmosphere.

NANAMI

Thank you.

FATORA

And my day is clear... (turns to ALIELLE) Perhaps we’ll stay for a while.

ALIELLE is staring out of the window.

FATORA

Alielle? Alielle, hello? Anyone home?

ALIELLE

Oh... sorry, I was watching for one of my siblings who was due to arrive today.

FATORA

What? Sibling?

ALIELLE

When’ll that twit be here?

NANAMI

So, family, huh? A sister?

ALIELLE

Kid brother.

FATORA

(disappointed)

Oh, what a shame. Boys are of no interest to me.

ALIELLE goes back to looking out of the window.

ALIELLE

I’m so worried... he’s late...

17. EXT - DERELICT BUGROM FORTRESS – DAY

18. INT - DERELICT BUGROM FORTRESS – DAY

GROUCHO and HARPO are present, bandaged after their encounter. JINNAI is pacing, furious.

GROUCHO & HARPO

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI

Grr... Makoto Mizuhara is a festering boil on my butt!

GROUCHO & HARPO

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI

I turn my back for an instant and the conniving tinkerer develops a secret weapon!

GROUCHO & HARPO

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI

We can’t be caught off guard again by that underhanded insect!

GROUCHO & HARPO

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI

No offence.

GROUCHO & HARPO

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI stops in front of GROUCHO and HARPO.

JINNAI

We need a counter-strategy at once! He’s forcing me to waste valuable fighting power! Typical of my eternal rival!

GROUCHO & HARPO

(nodding)

-Bugrom language-

JINNAI

Stop nodding, you mindless toadies! Your ineptitude is to blame for all of this!

DIVA

(O.S.)

What’s upsetting you so, Mr Jinnai?

JINNAI

(surprised)

Uhh...

JINNAI turns to DIVA, who is standing a short distance away.

JINNAI

Ah, it’s you, Diva. Hmm... (thoughtful) Diva, I’d like a word with you in private.

DIVA

Private?

JINNAI approaches DIVA.

JINNAI

Mmm-hmm. I’m sure you realise that your population has dwindled. It’s impossible to build a Bugrom Empire without Bugrom.

DIVA

It’s depressing.

DIVA leans towards JINNAI as he begins to whisper.

JINNAI

(whispers)

Well then, perhaps I could you persuade you to... how shall I put this delicately... produce more eggs?

 

DIVA

(gasps)

What?

There is a pause as JINNAI and DIVA stare at each other, and DIVA’s heartbeat becomes audible.

DIVA

(resigned)

You’re right. Duty calls.

JINNAI

Excellent!

DIVA

I’ll need your co-operation, of course.

JINNAI

You will? (confident) Certainly. Just let me know if I can be of help.

DIVA

(amorous)

Shall we begin? Come, Mr Jinnai.

DIVA walks away. JINNAI, who still doesn’t get it, watches her.

JINNAI

Hmm? Where are we going?

DIVA

Where else? Inside the tent.

We see a small and thoroughly nasty looking tent. JINNAI suddenly realises what sort of co-operation he’s being asked for.

JINNAI

(horrified)

In... uh... there? You’re kidding!

19. EXT – FLORISTICA – EVENING

An establishing shot of the city.

20. EXT - FLORISTICA – OUTSIDE THE SHINONOME DINER - EVENING

QAWOOR, still wearing MAKOTO’s shirt and looking a little dishevelled, walks through the city, visibly exhausted. She stops.

QAWOOR

(thinks)

At last, Floristica. I made it. Oh... but...

Her stomach growls.

QAWOOR

(thinks)

I’m starving to death. I’ll collapse if I don’t eat something.

She sees the Shinonome Diner.

21. INT – SHINONOME DINER – EVENING

QAWOOR, now seated, places an empty bowl down on the table.

QAWOOR

Mmm... I’m stuffed. That was a marvellous meal.

NANAMI leans over the table.

NANAMI

Here’s your tea! My, you sure can pack away the grub! Impressive!

QAWOOR

Well, your food is superb here.

As QAWOOR drinks, NANAMI stares at her shirt.

NANAMI

(thinks)

That’s funny... I’m surprised I didn’t notice it before. Her clothes look exactly like Makoto’s...

QAWOOR stands.

QAWOOR

I’m grateful. Thank you for everything.

QAWOOR goes to leave.

NANAMI

Uh... wait a minute, miss...

QAWOOR

Yes?

NANAMI holds out her hand.

NANAMI

(embarrassed)

Didn’t you forget something?

There is a pause. Suddenly, QAWOOR takes NANAMI’s hand.

QAWOOR

Oh, thoughtless me!

NANAMI

Oh?

QAWOOR

Your farewell custom, right? Bless you for your gracious hospitality.

NANAMI

(confused)

Uh... um... problem!

22. EXT – FLORISTICA – OUTSIDE MAKOTO’S HOUSE – EVENING

Establishing shot of the house.

23. INT – MAKOTO’S HOUSE – MAKOTO’S BEDROOM - EVENING

Makoto collapses down on the bed, with the relic in his hand.

MAKOTO

Wow. That was an ordeal. (looks at the relic) This... what in the world is this thing?

URA walks over.

URA

Nyahh!

URA sees QAWOOR’s shirt, laid out to dry.

URA

What that? It smell nice!

URA reaches out to touch the shirt, but MAKOTO picks the cat up.

MAKOTO

No, Ura. Don’t touch.

URA

(reaching out for the shirt)

Nyahh! Please! I want to smell it more!

MAKOTO

(thinks)

What happened to her? I hope she’s okay...

URA

Makoto, why is face red?

MAKOTO

I’m... worried about someone. That’s why.

24. EXT – FLORISTICA – OUTSIDE THE SHINONOME DINER – NIGHT

Through the window, we see NANAMI and QAWOOR working behind the counter.

25. INT – SHINONOME DINER – KITCHEN – NIGHT

QAWOOR is washing dishes. NANAMI is at the till, adding up her takings for the day.

QAWOOR

I... I truly didn’t know that I had to pay for it. I feel like a total fool.

NANAMI

Try to work off your bill today, alright?

QAWOOR

Yes, ma’am.

26. INT – SHINONOME DINER - NIGHT

FUJISAWA and MIZ enter the restaurant.

FUJISAWA

Hey Nanami! You here?

NANAMI

(from behind the counter)

Hi! Welcome, guys!

MIZ and FUJISAWA sit down, along with SHAYLA and AFURA. MIZ is looking furious.

SHAYLA

(sighs)

Man, I’m hungry.

MIZ growls at nobody in particular.

AFURA

Dear Miz, it’s difficult to search on an empty stomach. Don’t be this way.

SHAYLA

(unsympathetic)

Yeah, Miz. You’ll ruin our appetites.

MIZ

Shayla, what was that?

SHAYLA

(thinking better of it)

Uh... oh... nothing.

QAWOOR approaches the table.

QAWOOR

(nervous)

W... welcome... may I take your order?

FUJISAWA

I’ll have the House A lunch. Huh? (to NANAMI) A new waitress?

NANAMI

(O.S.)

Sort of! She’s a temp!

SHAYLA

Um... let’s see. I think I’ll stick with my usual. A monmon steak, rare enough to walk away.

AFURA

And I’ll have the Shinonome Udon. Easy on the soy sauce, okay?

QAWOOR turns to MIZ, still sulking and not really looking in QAWOOR’s direction.

QAWOOR

Um... and what would you like, madam?

MIZ

(looking away)

My honeymoon schedule... not on your menu, is it?

FUJISAWA

Uh... don’t mind her. We’re finished ordering, miss. Thank you.

MIZ

That too much to ask for?

MIZ looks up at QAWOOR, livid.

MIZ

I’ll have the Shinonome special, and make it with extra dill pickle!

QAWOOR

Yes, ma’am!

There is a pause as MIZ and QAWOOR stare at each other, having properly seen each other’s faces for the first time.

MIZ

Huh?

QAWOOR

M... Miss Miz?

MIZ

(deeply confused)

It’s... Qawoor Towles!

SHAYLA, AFURA & FUJISAWA

(shocked)

What?

26. ABSTRACT DREAM SEQUENCE

A brilliant light source is reflected off MAKOTO’s face. MAKOTO floats through the light. In the distance, he can just make out IFURITA.

MAKOTO

I... Ifurita?

IFURITA turns her head to face him.

IFURITA

Makoto?

MAKOTO

(shouts)

Ifurita! Is it really you? Wait!

MAKOTO goes to run, but is pulled back, by an invisible force. Suddenly, a strange black fog starts to envelop IFURITA.

MAKOTO

(shouts)

What’s that stuff?

IFURITA reaches out powerlessly as the smoke encroaches further.

IFURITA

Makoto! Hurry! Hurry!

Makoto struggles against the force, trying to inch forwards.

MAKOTO

If... Ifurita! I’ll... save... you...

MAKOTO’s hand stretches out towards IFURITA.

MAKOTO

Hold on!

IFURITA is now all but obscured by the blackness.

IFURITA

Makoto...

The black fog completely encircles IFURITA.

MAKOTO

I... Ifurita! No!

The black fog transforms into a strange symbol, then into the outline of an unfamiliar, laughing ENTITY.

27. INT – MAKOTO’S HOUSE – MAKOTO’S BEDROOM – NIGHT

There is a clatter as IFURITA’s staff falls to the floor. Next to it, the relic is emitting more beams of light, which stray across MAKOTO’s sleeping eyes. MAKOTO wakes up suddenly.

MAKOTO

(gasps)

A nightmare... that’s all...

MAKOTO notices the dimensional transporter, which is also glowing.

MAKOTO

Huh? What is this? Am I still dreaming?

Nearby, QAWOOR’s shirt, still hanging out to dry, is swaying gently, as if in a breeze. MAKOTO notices.

MAKOTO

Huh?

We see that the shirt bears a crest identical to the symbol from the dream.

MAKOTO

There’s... no wind. What does all of this mean?

28. INT – PALACE – CORRIDOR – NIGHT

FATORA walks along the darkened corridor, a lamp in her hand.

FATORA

(calling)

Alielle? Alielle, where are you?

The light briefly illuminates the palace’s legendary bathroom.

FATORA

(groans)

She’s not out here. It’s so naughty of her to disappear on me.

29. INT – PALACE – FATORA’S BEDROOM – NIGHT

The door opens, and FARORA looks in. She sees the bed is occupied.

FATORA

(laughs to herself)

I see. That rascal’s been waiting for me all along.

FATORA removes her robe and approaches the bed. She leans over the sleeping figure.

FATORA

You deserve a tongue lashing, you imp.

Wahey. FATORA reaches under the covers. "ALIELLE" moans.

FATORA

(surprised)

Hmm? You lost weight. Your butt feels a lot bonier than it was before.

FATORA feels around under the covers.

FATORA

Let’s see how the rest of you feels...

FATORA reaches between the sleeping figure’s legs.

"ALIELLE"

Huh?

FATORA

Huh? Wait a minute...

30. INT – PALACE – CORRIDOR – NIGHT

FATORA can be heard screaming.

31. EXT – FLORISTICA – PALACE – NIGHT

"ALIELLE’s" screams echo through the night.

FATORA

(disgusted)

Who the hell are you?
