El-Hazard Online / Re: El Hazard, Year 10

*sigh* I don't really have much to contribute to this topic, other than Helio sounds like a very nice person, and that I have heard that there is going to be an anime convention in May, though I don't know the exact date. I believe it's going to be in Richmond Virginia, but I need to check with my people on that *winks*. If anyone is interested in doing something at the convention, I know that it won't be on the exact date of the anniversary, but it might be fun anyway, and if anything, a good way to increase El-Hazard awareness.  :)

I did find a convention in the Baltimore area. It's actually a science fiction and fantasy convention, but El-Hazard is really a short throw from that. In the discription, there is apparently an anime room that's open 24 hours. It's on May 27-30. The website adress is
http://www.balticon.org/ if anyone wants to look at it. There are also MANY different cons happening in May, I just looked up one I could go to.  ;D I don't know everyone's location, but if anyone is interested in going to a con that's not in Maryland, I'll look for one.

Also, a friend of mine has a more extensive list of anime cons, and so I'll consult with him and try to find something that suits everyone. That is supposing anyone even likes the idea. Please let me know!  :)

El-Hazard Online / Re: Conversation with Associate; OAV3, EHOL

I love the idea of another EH! I just think it's way too early to be getting excited. They haven't even made it a plan yet, and after that there's still the chance that complications might occur and the OVA might be abandoned. I think I remember Rob saying that AW effectively killed El-Hazard's sequel potential, so I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't think it's going to happen...

A similar thing happened to a new Final Fantasy series that was being worked on. It was called Final Fantasy Gaiden, and it was supposed to be a re-telling of FFVIII from Seifer's point of view. And they actually got past the planning stages and put out a promotional video of Seifer and co fighting a Cactuar, but then the project was canceled due to "complications". I have a feeling it might have had something to do with the fact that FFVIII wasn't very popular compared to the rest of the series...

PS. d.t, Cute picture! I wonder where you got it...?

Well... it sounds like he says "yoku yatta no" in the Japanese track.  "You did well" is a pretty close translation of that.  Literally, something like "a thing that was done well."

Just to clarify, I was just being a smart-ass about that "you did a good job" comment. El-Hazard actually does a pretty decent dub, sticking more-or-less to the original, cultural references excluded. In fact, I actually prefer the dub, the reason being Bob Marx. But I'm getting off topic.

^^ Just re-iterating my point. I promise I'll make it short!
I'm still liking the idea of Iffy/Jinnai, only because the MOST affectionate I've ever seen Jinnai is around her. I like the father/daughter dynamic too, but taking it to the next level might be fun... But I guess it all depends on what kind of couples you like.

Then there are the priestesses.  Sure, Miz is already taken, Afura doesn't seem interested in romance at all, and Shayla and Jinnai are only likely to hook up if they faced imminent death and were seriously drunk (Yes, I've read Fault.), but that still leaves Qawool!  Think about it!  Jinnai could help her get over her bug phobia, and in return she'd be so grateful that she falls in love with him and joins the Bugrom Empire!

I'm not trying to put you down in any way by saying this, but I think that's the worst pairing so far! Quawool says she likes "nice, kind" men, and has a phobia of bugs. It seems as though she is Jinnai's direct opposite. Then again, she may be naieve enough to believe Jinnai's views on "good and evil". But personally, I kind of dislike Quawool's character, and if one more man (or woman) gets an obsessive crush on her, I'll puke...

Well, if cheat sheets is all you're worried about, just take the questions and divy them into four or more tests, like the stipid drivers ed tests, so the test-ee will never know which he'll get. I think that would be easier to grade then the random questions, and if you update the tests every once and a while, it should have no problems.

My favorite character is Jinnai. He's all I watch the show for. Screw the plot, screw the other guys, screw the Eye of God, it's all Jinnai.   8)
