Hey!!! It's me!!!
Anyway, I just wanted to post some of my drawings, one is from my book, thats the one that doesn't look like flareon, and the other two I just drew for the sake of it.

I do have some better ones somewhere, but I can't find them.
My first anime drawings were really rubbish. They had no shape and made you think of a five year old trying to draw.
Remembering at this point that the frist anime I saw was the moomins. then pokemon.

I especially liked this one. Good job. Being a manga fan for quite a while tends to slant one's drawing tastes more toward B&W. ;)

I prefer not having to colur things in, probably because I don't have the time. Okay, it's more like the effort, but hey!
I've got some other images I managed to scan, but I couldn't get the webspace to work.
Grr.
When I get some others, I'll post them in.
BTW Rob, I have some fanart to send you when it's finished, so that I n olonger feel like the only thing I ever do is post.

Did you get that pose from looking off another picture? Having a reference always helps ^_^ Most of my doodles stink because I try to draw from my head rather than from observation like I SHOULD ^_^;

Everything I draw ALWAYS reflects my own personal style... I'm no good at TRAINING myself to draw in a different style... that's just how it is... unless I'm looking DIRECTLY AT something I just sorta do my own thing... ^_^ So anytime I TRY to do manga-like art it ALWAYS evolves into my own personal style... which I guess is a combination of American and Japanese cartoons ^_^;
heh oh well ^_^ I've been drawing in a fairly consistent style for about 9 years now... I guess I'm not gonna change ^_^ --- well my webcomic is a short hand, simplified, shitty version of my REAL art style ^_^ so I guess I CAN do other similar styles ^_^;

why thank you kathy! thats amazingly nice to hear from an art teacher.
I did copy Kia's pose from anothr book, but changed the hair and the clothes. I definately changed the clothes seeing as the girl in the original drawing wasn't actually wearing anything. :P

Hey, that's the book I have, too! ;D Just starting my training with it! If it has the same layout as my german version, this pose should be found on page 39, right? I've tried to draw the ones on p.34 (bottom) and p.41 (upper right) but had to add the legs on my own. :P
Pretty hard without a proper reference!

I liked the girls on page 39, 111 (top right), 104 (top right), 72 (skiers tan), 46 (br), 44 + 45, 40, 11 (bl) and 25 (bottom middle).
Okay, I was working backwards for most of that. And I have a lot of favourites. ;D

Jepp, they are great! But also I like the ones on p.30 (top right, looks cute), 35 (middle right),all of p.39,50, 68 and 69 (the big ones) 72 (top right), 105 (bottom right), 106 and most of the chibis.

Also, it looks like one breast is slightly a different size than the other, although that could be a perceptive thing. :p The rest of them seem okay, although maybe #2's hand is just a little bit small. But hands are supposed to be one of the hardest things in the world to draw.

I personally find hands very hard to draw. That and feet.
And yes, one of Serina's breasts is bigger than the other.
And Kia's hand went pretty badly in that one. I tend to try to hide the hands, it can sometimes be really difficult though.

It's the angle, if someone saw you from that angle, your head would probably look really big.
(I'm not saying that you have a big head.

Well I like your drawings, it remembers me of the time when I started to draw. I had to prepare 15 drawings for the entrence exam at my school, where I'm doing my finals now. Ok, there wasn't manga, but I tried it from time to time then.
In the end drew 125 pictures and took the 15 best of them to the exam. (That was about 3 month of drawing every day :P) I also realized that hands and feet are REALLY hard to draw!
Your drawings are pretty good so far, but keep in mind:
practice is the key to mastery
(sounds like some chinese kung fu master or something, huh? But actually my dad told me that back then ;))

Well, in the original version, Kia had her hand on freya's shoulder, but with the expression on Kia and Freya's faces, I changed it to her backside.
Strange that, because in the second book, Freya and Karrie start going out. (Karrie is the one right at the end, who you can hardly see)

Anyhow, nice pictures Lar. I think everyone else has already given appropriate criticism and praise. So all I can say is "Keep drawing!" you're off to a good start! ^_^
(have you ever considered taking extra classes? The only way to get good is to practice... and that would definately let you practice!)

Well, in fist year and second year, you get two periods of art a week, and art club is really boring, so there isn't really anything I can do.
I'd join an art club if they had an anime art club, but they don't, so I'm stuck.

Maybe try not leaning so hard? That usually works for me.
I'm sorry, I have to make a point here. How do you think I felt the fifth time my pencil broke, and when I ran out of rubber whilst drawing the life sized pic of Sasami, which was supposed to be a b-day present for someone a year or two ago but he never actually got it. (sorry matthew ;) )
