And for a slightly more twisted view of the anniversary:

And now we know what Princess Fatora's bed looks like  ^^;

Except Fatora would have it upside down.  :-[

Shame shame. Every good Catholic knows that the Pope is in perfect health right up to the instant he dies.

Of course, that doesn't explain how I know...

The decline of the Catholic Church is evident in the fact that they accepted me as a member.  ;D

Back to hentai--one of the funniest lines I ever saw was in the web comic "Megatokyo", where an evil bishie Sony employee is quizzing a humanoid dating-sim accessory, using catch phrases to determine how "easy" she is:

"Look, it's snowing."

All of her points are very valid, too. I've seen firsthand what will happen to cels over time no matter what you do.

A friend of mine has a cel from the Ralph Bakshi movie "Wizards". He had it professionally framed and has tried very hard to take good of it over the past twenty years.

And it's still slowly disintegrating. Shame to see, really.

I was out at Animaxis last night in search of something else and browsed the E-H section just out of curiosity.

Whoa nelly. Pages upon pages of cels.

...but with some glue and paint, you can rebuild her as a 1/5 resin kit!

Auction ends tonight; I'd bid, but a) I'm broke and b) let's just say if I assembled Alielle, you'd probably never know it was her, such are my meager abilities.

Morris (or would it be JS? :D)-- Nah, don't worry about it. I'm not much for Japanese goods or E-Bay (besides music, heh); but it is helpful to know for anyone who is (not everybody is going to keep looking out for rare El Hazard material; and posting notices like this is very helpful).

Jeff is fine. I answer to practically anything. :)

I like to collect stuff related to the various series I'm interested in; right now I'm tracking down the four "Haibane Renmei" doujinshi the anime was based on (I've got two right now and a line on the other two). I think it's partly due to seeing the artwork and concepts, and partly the "thrill of the hunt". :)

OT, Tsubara's style can be summarized this way: "He's a good artist, but he's really facinated with boobies."

God bless 'im.  ;D

Question--does anyone really care about this stuff? Only reason I posted this one and the last was that I thought someone might be interested in getting it. But if it's an annoyance, I'll stop.

Ah, haven't been on an EZBoard in a while.  Looks like the cookie for my login is still stored, though.

I suppose if I ever need cross-referencing I might bother you guys.  :P

We are, as ever, here to serve.

And I did give this site a big plug, which it deserves. It's one of the best resources on El-Hazard that a fanfic writer could ask for.

« on: January 04, 2004, 07:38:42 pm »
I'm pleased to announce the birth of a new message board for fanfiction writers.

The Fanfic Writers Forum is the result of several long discussions with some friends, most notably Hospitaller. We thought that creating a place for fanficcers to get together, trade tips and resources, discuss story ideas and get feedback on their work, and just have a good time together in general was a great idea, and we finally put it in place this weekend.

Know of a good website with tons of information about a series? We want to know about it. Where are the best places to post your story? Tell us. Have questions or problems with your latest story? Ask and see if someone has some answers. And this isn't just for writers; we welcome everyone with an interest in fanfic, not just Tenchi but all sorts of genres.

We hope you'll drop by and more importantly, stick around and contribute to the fun.

As if straightforward Japanese wasn't difficult enough-- Afura's song is sung in dialect, and it's quite metaphysical.  My brain hurts  ^^;

Here. Have a snickerdoodle for doing your best and giving it the old college try. :)

I've given this a lot of thought.

If you were to ask me right now, I'd say "Haibane Renmei" ranks as my favorite anime, because nothing I've seen to date has moved me so much as the last five minutes of its final episode.

I like the depth and complexity of the Tenchi Muyo OAV universe as well.

And there's always "The Big O". That's more of a guilty pleasure, but I truly enjoy watching the episodes over and over.

St. Louis Blues.

Because we so enjoy getting our hopes built up and having them utterly destroyed in the first round.

Kinda like the Cubs when you get down to it.  :bawl
