He's looking at the hole in the metal fence where Fujisawa had ripped out one of the posts to use as a climbing pick-axe.
Which you see Fujisawa talking about in the next shot.

For those of you that may not know, Geneon has gone out of business. They will not be releasing any more titles with a release date of November 6th or later and I believe they stop direct sales today. What does this mean for you? El-Hazard is published by Geneon. That means that the future of these new DVDs is in question at this point, and they may become quite rare sooner then you think. So if you've been holding off on buying them (or any other Geneon titles), now is the time to do it. Source: Anime News Network

Well, here's my top 10 for 06 (it's still really hard for me to rank them, or just stick with 10):
1. Mai HiME/Otome 2. El Hazzard 3. The Melencholy of Suzumiya Haruhi 4. Full Metal Panic 5. Azumanga Daioh 6. Ah! My Goddess 7. Kaleido Star 8. The Place Promised in Our Early Days 9. Air 10. Fate/Stay Night
And my top 10 from 05 (for reference):
1. Mai HiME 2. El Hazzard 3. Full Metal Panic 4. Azumanga Daioh 5. Ah! My Goddess 6. Elfen Lied 7. Tsubasa Chronicle 8. Place Promised in Our Early Days 9. Scrapped Princess 10. Noir
So... a decent amount of difference between the two years. But I'll chalk that up to being fickle and watching a lot of new anime this year.
Other series of note that I saw this year (in no particular order):
Godannar Moon Phase Karin The Mars Daybreak School Rumble Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha

I've read that and put my stamp of approval on it (not that that would mean anything, but...)

Presumably they returned long enough to pick up Makoto's friends. If by "Makoto's friends" you mean Nanami, Katsuhiko, and Mr. Fujisawa then I would have to argue that would be difficult. Both Nanami and Mr. Fujisawa have attachments to El Hazard and Katsuhiko probably wouldn't leave his "legion of followers" willingly. If by "Makoto's friends" you mean the above, plus most of the main cast of El Hazard, I can't exactly see the three chief priestesses and the princess of the most powerful nation in El Hazard just packing up and leaving. The idea that Ifurita wouldn't want to return to El Hazard because of her reputation does have some merit, though not many people know what she looks like, IIRC. The people that know what she looks like pretty much consist of the main cast plus some palace staff. Remember that she nuked the city from thousands of feet into the air, where no one could see her. Makoto and the rest of the cast strike me as forgiving enough to take her in if they came back. Travelling back and forth would probably allivate most issues. Makoto could see his friends in El Hazard and Earth, the people from El Hazard could visit earth (hence the scenes at the end), and no one really gets stuck in one world wishing they could see friends and relatives in the other one. Of course, it's all speculation, and hinges almost entirely on whether you think the paintings at the end have anything to do with the conclusion (like I do) or are just random art the creators made for fun.

My personal opinion is that since both Ifurita and Makoto can now travel between dimentions (Ifurita gains the ability via Eye of God and I presume Makoto designed a machine to do it, or used the Eye of God himself) that they would spend time in both worlds. Especially since all the people from Earth now have ties to El Hazard, and I don't think they would want to sever all ties with their friends and family back on Earth (though they would either have to come back to Earth x years later, or explain why they are all suddenly x years older). Jinnai is a bit of a puzzle as he does not have the ability to travel between dimentions, but Makoto strikes me as the kind of guy to take Jinnai back to Earth if Jinnai asked.
In the above case, the ending montage makes sense, since it shows many El Hazard characters in Earth settings.

First of all, I think the MPAA would be going after YouTube instead of the RIAA Also, the only reason I can think of why they have not is that the site has a reporting feature and they do regularly remove content when a creator reports it. Course, I don't really expect someone like the MPAA or RIAA to actually understand basic logic, so my point my be invalid

I would like to point out that anime episodes (or tv episodes, or movies, etc) on youtube or any other movie hosting service not posted by the copyright holder are illegal and are subject to removal by the host once they are notified of the copyright infringement. And the poster is subject to possible banning. As to the AMVs, those are alright as long as the poster is the creator or someone who has permission from the creator. Don't really want to rain on your parade, but if you like the series, go buy the DVDs please

I have the RAZR phone and ended up using the Motorola tools on my Windows box to do the same thing. It's quite possible that Motorola just doesn't care about Mac and therefore doesn't support it. (AFAIK, you can't really set up this phone as a generic storage device, like a USB key or somesuch thing. But hey, if you figure it out, let me know!)

While I do have all currently released OMG season 2 episodes, I haven't gotten around to watching them yet. As to the DVD-only episodes, they basically go through a modification of the manga storyline where they loose access to their powers and use the moon-rock bracelets. Urd gets younger, Skuld gets older. Works out pretty well IMO, and worth watching.
