I did a quick background check on these if you're curious.  The second one (of Diva) was done by Hidetomo Tsubura (sp?), the author of the manga series. It also appears to be in his style (Double-D Diva and all), and looking back, I'm pretty certain it was originally garnered from a site with scans of his artwork. The first one, I recall, is from AIC's main page. They used to put up images with characters from their series on the front site, a new one every month or so. The artwork was always obviously NOT that of anyone originally working on the show...  This Makoto/Ifurita one was actually used in an AIC banner, too. (The only other "AIC main page" image I can think of offhand is the one with Ryo and Ken-ohki, Fancia, and a very cute Ura. Sort of a macot get-together). The Rune one from OAV2 is from a piece of OAV2 box art (in Japan), and the one of Makoto and Ifurita "reuniting" is definitely from a piece of official art and cropped from a larger picture. I'm tempted to say it's from a Japanese LD pull-out, but I can't remember for sure. The original looks like a mini-comic of the whole cast. The Alielle "Peace Sign" one I can't identify, but it looks like it's most likely from a doujinshi (fan comic) cover to me (since these are sold on an open market, it's always been a shady issue whether these can be used or not). The last two are pretty definitely fanart ('specially the Alielle one, but the Jinnai and TV-Iffy one also), so, erm, don't use 'em. *cough* *ahem* As for the use of the rest...I don't know, to be honest, what the procedure would be for that. I really just wanted other fans to have a chance to look at them, since I haven't seen them online for awhile. But, I've heard Japanese fan artists talk about how they don't consider putting official images from a show to be "fair use". So, I don't know. I would say the fanart ones, probably the fan comic one as well, are off-limits, though (and I'll debate the morality of putting official images up later since, to be honest, I've always used 'em myself). Glad if anyone likes looking at them, though. I'll take the page down soon.

This is a slightly odd post, but does anyone have any interest in these pictures? I found them whilst going through my old anime files, and I haven't happened to see them on this site. Mind you, that doesn't mean they aren't here, overlooked by me; I haven't had the time to peruse every single picture.  But still. The temporary site I've posted them on is at: http://www.geocities.com/entropychan/oldehpics/pictures.html (Yes, the evil Geocities.) I should also warn that the last two are almost certaintly fanart, so be cautious in how you use them. But, I thought I might want to at least show them to whomever might be interested (I'll probably delete some files soon, as any anime site we might construct is still really up in the air right now). - Erin

Come along now, Erin... I know you're a HUGE fan of the Termite Queen from Alternative World...
Oh, yeaaah...I lurve her. She is L33T!! Teh BEstest. I'm making this wicked kewl "Termite Queen ULTIMATE FAN SHRINE"!! Right now. I don't really have anything in particular against Termite Chickie, except for the whole "subplot that makes no freakin' sense why the heck are you wasting my time with this" thing. Though, actually...my house has a termite infestation. And now I know who's to blame! *shakes fist* Curse you, Termite Queen!! *grumbles, then goes off to write Termite Queen lesbian fanfiction*

It's been awhile since I saw TPB. I'm embarrassed to admit I don't read much fanfic, but I did really like "Fault". It think it proves that almost any premise can be made believable (of course, believable premises can also been done poorly). It all depends on the author.

*dredging up very old topic* "Okay I'll admit I kept track until the like twentith error page then I got depressed and stopped. Hey there are still a few pages there. I do hope Anime Pie comes back up, I liked that page." *embarrassed*  Um. It is on my hard drive somewhere. Actually, my fiancee and I do have finished sections lying around somewhere (like that weird Church of Evil Kiyone thing). I guess we just figured no one really cared. Hehe. I am really glad you liked it though!!

 *no longer really the topic, but here goes* I think which characters are "good" is just a matter of personal opinion; I've actually known people who think Ifurita is a ridiculous fantasy babe with way too many cleavage shots, which is some ways, she is. Keep in mind I've been following El Hazard in one way or another since...1997, I guess it was? (I am almost positive my Ifurita shrine was the first one online. And just look at the Ifurita shrines since then, they've grown by...*counts* Umm...two?) So, I've run across fans/detractors of every single character. I'm pretty easy because I like everybody, at least in the orginal OAV. After that, it does change a little. But, I don't begrudge big fans of the new characters any.

"Well, *ahem*, did you ever consider that RAPE is not usually a good thing?" Wh-what?? NO! Heehee. Well, I WAS kidding, hence the little disclaimer where I said that I was, um, kidding. As in... [kidding] But Diva's a woman. Women can't rape!! And even if they could, it would be funny and cool. [/kidding] I think that that has been covered in the episode 13 thread, though. It's obviously the producers of the episode meant for that scene to be comedic, whereas it likely wouldn't be so if it were a schoolgirl (even an insane, mass-murdering schoolgirl) and a ridiculously dressed Emperor. Or..wait... *thinks of Dall and Quawool* Never mind. (ok, so Quawool isn't a mass murder. *dramatic music* That we KNOW of, anyway!) I think it does fit into "these things wouldn't be funny if they really happened" territory, though. Then, we would have the "hilarious alcoholic" Fujisawa, "lots 'o laughs" rapist lesbians Alielle and Fatora, and the giggle-worthy mass murder/schizophrenic Jinnai. It's a bit like Excel Saga...what else can you say about a show starring one girl that's always dying, and another one who's always trying to eat her dog? 0_o

See, that's just what's always had me curious. I have noticed, in my mad El Hazard traveling, that the disturbing, underground (and I mean WAY underground) legions of raving Jinnai fangirls have never hit upon Kalia as a potential pairing. I've seen Diva. I've seen freakin' Shayla. And in one or two pictures which I am still attempting to forever scour from my memory, I've even seen Makoto. Brrrr...Makoto and Jinnai yaoi... *scrubs self with disinfectant* In any case, my point being. There was some cuteness there between Jinnai and Kalia early on. Where's the love? Crazy, apocolyptic, vengeful demon gods need hugs too. Or maybe not... What's Diva got that Kalia ain't? Is it her much bigger...political influence? What? Actually, I'm being facetious, as I don't favor Kalia so much. Besides, there may be something to Jinnai x Makoto after all. Exhibit A: Episode 13 of the Alternative World. "Oh no!! I'm being forced to have sex with a beautiful woman! One that would normally be way, WAY out of my league! Please help!!" If THAT doesn't prove he's gay, what does? (please note: this message may actually not be meant to be taken seriously. Do not take internally.) Oh, I'm Erin, btw. You might know me from the El Hazard fan club mailing list, or "Why would anybody make an egroup, and then not even bother to post?"
