Wow, this is like three or four topics in one. I still want to see a AMV of the Moody Blues' "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" for Makoto and OVA-Ifurita. That, or "Your Wildest Dreams." Someone once suggested Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" for Makoto and OVA-Ifurita. I'd like to see that done too. And, at the risk of being too obvious, how about "Windy" by the Association, for Afura. When they repeat the line "smiling at everybody she sees," you could have clips of TV-Afura being snippy instead

http://skyhent.curvedspaces.com/elhazard/ Yeah, I stumbled onto those awhile back, myself. Those pictures are too explicit for my tastes-- at least, for anime characters. I like an onsen episode as much as the next guy, and some of the hentai doujinshi are fun, but please, leave something to the imagination. I still can't believe that someone did two Kiriya pictures. And I thought I was obsessive. She couldn't have had more than five minutes on-screen?

The only El-Hazard dream that I remember having was where I was watching a live-action version of a scene from the first OVA, where Makoto finds Ifurita in her tomb on the Forbidden Island.
I wish I had had Skuld's dream-TV invention to record it. I remember thinking that the special effects were very well-done, and that the actress playing Ifurita was incredibly beautiful.

I just registered mine. http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&id=mrwhatI have no VHS anime-- the DVD player was my gateway drug to anime-- but I do have several CDRs of Kodomo No Omocha digisubs. This, plus a handful of eBay auctions, has taken my entire entertainment budget for about two years. I don't have cable TV, and I hardly ever go see movies at the theaters.

I think you know exactly what I want. Remember, I don't have much free time. I'm away from this computer every weekend. And I usually only check in once a day, Monday to Thursday, at most. You're just lucky that I have insomnia tonight The only parts of your site that I've visited more than once or twice are the forums and the caption contest. I barely glanced at your MP3 page before now, because I was planning to buy the Alt World soundtrack at the time, and I didn't need anything else for myself. I'm sorry, but I honestly didn't know that you wanted this set before now. And, yes, I know what (now), but what about how? I don't use file sharing software, and I couldn't find anything like an FTP address here. Anyway. No problem. I have my own server space. Give me a few days, and I'll set things up on my end, and then I'll e-mail you with details, OK?

Wait... is that the boxset?? PICA-1166? Yeah, that's it. I got it from Robert's Anime Corner Store awhile back. http://www.animecornerstore.com/You need to check for El-Hazard items there once in awhile. They're expensive, but they do get some rare/OOP stuff. Rob, if you want to discuss my copy of the box set further, please e-mail me. I know this whole site is already one big copyright infringement-- but still, the recording industry has spies everywhere

MrWhat - "Almost two years of studying Japanese, and it still takes me an evening to translate a sentence or two..."
Well, yes, because Japanese just happens to be a language where one letter is one word. Of course it will take you a while to understand.
But what do I know? It took me three years to learn English. I'd be further along if I studied slow and steady. But I get on a tear and cram for a few weeks, then I get tired of it and drop it for a few more weeks, and so on. But it's still a lot of fun. I was listening to an EH soundtrack song a few days ago-- I think it was a Wanderers song-- and I managed to understand an entire phrase on the fly, and it literally gave me cold chills

(ok, so Quawool isn't a mass murder. *dramatic music* That we KNOW of, anyway!) Hoo boy. That sentence just screams 'fan fiction'...

Submissions are very much wanted, except for obviously Neil guarding his OAV1 territory. Thanks for my honorary contributor status. I guess I'm not actually contributing much directly, besides all those captions. But things are more calm around here now, and I have resumed work on both fan fiction and Japanese translations I'm going to try to have a translation of Jinnai's song by the end of the month. I'm away on weekends, so I didn't get a chance to thank you for the link to "that one guy's page with the insane amount of El-Hazard fanfiction links," before you locked the topic. I'll try to get a reciprocal link to you from my site sometime soon. You've just doubled the number of sites that link to my EH site I want to DL a couple of Alt World MP3s sometime, if I don't get around to buying the Alt World CD first. I've got the big yellow box set, but it doesn't cover the Alt World series. And I'll check for non-box set radio dramas, if I ever get proficient enough to translate them. Almost two years of studying Japanese, and it still takes me an evening to translate a sentence or two...

I like cheese. I, myself, am also quite fond of cheese. However, I am enjoying peanut butter on crackers as I type this

A fool and his money. I've done fairly well on eBay, I think, but you gotta be careful out there.
I guess the most valuable DVDs I have now are the first five Marx Brothers movies. They went out of print just as I bought them.

After 25, the anime woman becomes either: 1. a genki housewife or 2. turns into a shrivled old lady 3. A desperate water priestess Outside of anime I am comfortable with my age... Ah. Of course. You were talking about anime characters, weren't you. Never mind me (yet again)

I'm almost 23... I'm gonna be an OBAASAN soon... Hardly I'm pretty sure I'm not the oldest one here anymore, but I'll speak as the elder. Don't worry. Granted, I think aging is harder on women in most cultures, but still-- I'm enjoying life at 33 a lot more than I did at 23. "Remember, you may have to grow old, but you don't have to mature." --Red Green. Words to live by I guess I'm about Fujisawa's age. I'm not super-strong, but I do have brown hair and perpetual five-o'clock shadow

Did anyone actually cry when Kalia died? Sorry, can't help you with that. She went straight from annoying brat to vicious demon-spawn for me
