AFAIK, no one has translated the song "properly." But I'm trying to teach myself some Japanese, and my best guess is here: http://echoalpha.com/Japanese/ElHazard_SeifukuOuJinnaiKatsuhiko.html
(missed the 10th anniversary, and still too busy for fanworks, but at least I'm lurking regularly again) Well Mr What...your provided translation is better than nothing, which was what I had going with this. I can work with this in planning my skit. Thank you.

Well, I for one prefer the dub voice, and I watched the Japanese version first. I could go on and on about the dub vs sub thing and all the reasons why I prefer dub over sub, but I ain't going to.
Perhaps the basic reason that I like Bob Marx's portrayal better than the Japanese guy's (aside from the fact that it is one of the best voice over works EVER) is the fact that I understand it. It's in English, a language I can speak. I can't really have an opinion on Jinnai's original Japanese voice since a) I'm not fluent in Japanese and b) I'm not fluent in Japanese.
So English Jinnai gets my vote. Enough said. Yes...here here! Bob Marx's protrayal brought alot of life into this character. And that's why it made Jinnai memorable as a villian IMO. Also, the Japanese actor made Jinnai sound older than he should have been...but, I ain't complaining about the Japanese actor. Props go to him for setting up the catalyst for Bob Marx's to work with as an actor...

I just bought the boxset at a Gamestop for only $30! That's a steal of a price wouldn't you agree. That and I finished all 4 DVD in one sitting on the day I bought it...

Don't know if anyone's attempted this before, but would anyone here watch both OVAs, alternative world, wanderers, AND listen to the radio dramas in under a day (without fast-forwarding)?
I'm planning on doing this in May on the 10-year anniversery. I'm gonna determine the physical strains on the human body during the process. I'll also get to see if it has any odd psychological effects on me as well.
Heck, I might as well throw in the viz mangas. Heh...I've attempted this once actually...although not all in one sitting. I would watch/read/listen to one whole series during a span of 5 days. (I.E. Monday: Watch OVAs, Tuesday: Watch Alternative World, Wednesday: Watch The Wanderers, Thursday: Reading the Manga, Friday: Listen to the Radio Dramas.)

I've always wanted to do an AMV to the Wanderers. I was thinking of using the song "A Whole New World" from the Aladdin soundtrack focusing on Rune and Makoto.

I was curious to know if someone could help me translate the lyrics to Jinnai's image song. I was thinking of a cosplay skit to this song but I need to know what the lyrics means before I can begin planning for the skit. Here are the lyrics in Romanji format:
kami ga watashi wo eran de tsugeta "kono yo wo seisu shin no shihaishada" to subete no tami ga machi no zomu no wa eikyufuhen no idai naru teiou
yaoya no tana no meron no youni fudou no chiiga niau otoko nano sa
todoroke ware koso Jinnai Katsuhiko chounaikai kara daiuchu made seifuku koso watashi no shimei
yabou wo chichi ni shouri o haha ni eikou wo anini ifu o giri no ane ni
fuji no gogoume jinja no torii itaru tokorode kono na o miru darou
oroka na tamini majitte itemo kono fukaku wo kakusu koto wa tsurai
ichiban buro kara hatsugatsuo made gyouza no hayagui hanami no basho tori seifuku koso watashi no shimei
Thanks for you time guys! ^_^

I just started playing the El Hazard game for the PC and I always seem to be getting Nanami, Alielle, or Makoto's ending every time! I wanted to view the ending guide here on the site but there always appears to be an loading error when it tries to read it. Could someone please help me in either getting the other 6 endings or tell me what's the deal with the ending guide not working? Thank you...

The OAV storyline is far and away my favorite, provided you clip off such nuisances as OAV2 and The Alternative World. (Eh, they weren't TERRIBLE, but I truly feel they were the wrong way to handle the OAV legacy.) Of all the El-Hazard series, they did the best of balancing the Adventure, Humor, Character Development, and Overall Setting of El-Hazard.
The Manga version was pretty good, but was far too focused on Ifurita and Makoto. All the other characters were pretty much shunted aside, and were little more than background characters. This is all well and good for Ifurita and Matoko fans, but I found it dissatisfying after having gotten to know the others from the OAV and TV series. The Manga would have been great, if it had been about ten times longer, and given everyone the treatment they deserved.
The El-Hazard: The Wanderers series was fabulous, though had too much filler. It was also, perhaps, a little too much on the zany side. Jinnai was great, as always, but it was a lot harder to take him seriously as a villain. The romance aspect of the story was kind of boring, too. The best thing to come out of that series, though, makes up for a lot of it, and that's TV Ifurita, quite possibly my all-time favorite anime character. She's just so adorable.
Don't get me wrong - they're all great. The OAV just happens to be, in my opinion, the best treatment of the material. Wow...you've said a mouthful! And yeah, I agree wholeheartedly with you about clipping off OVA 2 and Alternative world from the first OVA's legacy...

I think the reason all of them are women is so Mokoto can be oblivious to the advances of all the most powerful people in El-Hazard Here something I found interesting on the subject of Makoto and the ladies in El Hazard and to any love comedy situation... Rules of Anime #60- The Law of Active Female Attraction - In a comedy series, a male character's attractiveness to women is inversely proportional to how active they pursue them. (Makoto has a seemingly endless supply of willing girlfriends despite their lack of romantic skill. So it's not the fact that he's oblivious to their advances (he probably knows it too...) , it's just that the women in El Hazard must find a outlander sexy...granted that they aren't attractive males on El Hazard... (LOL Londs) )

Hi there! First time poster on the forums but long time fan of this amazing adventure! Props to Rob Jinnai for creating such a marvel of a fan site. *A chorus of Jinnai laughter to be heard!* But, I would like to pose this question to all my fellow wanderers out there: Which El Hazard Universe/Storyline would you prefer out of them all? For me, it would have to be the manga storyline. Probably because Makoto is "very forward" with the ladies. That and the designs for the characters are my favorite ones. (OVA style Priestesses and Ifurita, Wanderers Rune Venus, etc. )

FYI: The Wanderers version of Ifurita and Kalia for OVA 2 were both voiced by Juile Pickering (Now better known as Juile Ann Taylor)
