I love how eBay has come to recognize Wanderers as the primary series -_-
-
I didn't know that you could still buy LD's.
-
I love it when people try to argue with me that Wanderers is part of the OVA continuity. ^^;;;

Are LD better quality than DVD or VHS?
-
They came before DVD... I think they predate CD's, but I'm not completely familiar with the history. They're a type of digital movie format, pretty clean, but only NTSC resolution (Roughly half DVD size) and typically don't hold a very long length movie or whatever.

Heh half the size in terms of how much information/detail they will hold... over TWICE the size PHYSICALLY. Laser Discs are about the size of a record Lar. (about 12 inches across -- about 30.5 cm if that helps you get a better picture). Very old format been around since the early 1980's ... I only knew ONE person who's family was crazy enough to buy an LD player...
As far as I know Bob they DID predate CD's (but not by much)... hence the name COMPACT Disc... rather than LASER Disc. CD's were the smaller new and improved version of the LD... but were not used as a video format til VCDs became somewhat popular rigth before DVDs.
LDs are still used in schools sometimes... I took a biology class in college where they used LDs to show us diagrams and SHORT video segments...

See, I know I've said this before, but aren't LD's better quility than DVD or VHS?
-
Me and "Kathy" both said it twice two different ways. :P

No, they're not better quality than at least DVD. Possibly VHS because it's not a magnetic medium, and therefore won't wear and generally retains quality, but definately far subpar to DVD.

Sorry. Guess I wasn't paying attention. ;D
Either that or I didn't understand.
-
BTW, LD are still sold in Japan. ^_^
-
I had a feeling they were, but I didn't want to lay the statement in cement. :P
-
Lots of good stuff can be bought in Japan.
Whilst we are on the subject of Japan, where can you buy Cardcaptor Sakura the movie 2? I've searched for it everywhere, even in places like Amazon.com, who hardly ever do region 2 videos and DVD's.

Well, of course not Amazon.com! That's primarily a US seller, i.e. Region 1. There are other locales for Amazon, however, and you should investigate those.
Maybe you want

Or if you're really crazy

Heh that wasn't directed at ME by any chance was it? ;)
Should be getting "Undersea Supertrain Marine Express" and "Fumoon" in a week and a half! Ph33r!

Or you could just patiently wait for Pioneer to translate and release the second CCs movie in english. ^^;; I know these companies never move fast enough to suit our liking, but they get it together eventually. Except that god damn Manga Entertainment. ::burns Mangle Ent to the ground:: Oh sorry, I got a little carried away there.....

I've tried Amazon.jp several times and over a long period of time; and they still don't have CCS 2!!!! >:( >:(
