Ooh, Spanner decided to link my main rival from the past.  Curse you, Spanner.  You did intend to bring about my downfall.

Well, I'm working on an El-Hazard fanfiction at the moment (taking into account the events of MW1 and 2, but completely ignoring AW) - would such a thing be accepted on the website?

I never really got into stocking fanfiction, mostly because a member named MrWhat already kind of took care of making a mass linkage collection for me.  See "El-Hazard Fan Fiction Links" from the main page links section.  But you're free to discuss it here and link to it and all that stuff.  You'll probably just need to get into MrWhat's linking system and then you'll be indirectly connected to this site.

As far as completely ignoring AW... it's fun to do, but I do wonder how a die-hard might react to it.  AW is kind of the "face only a mother could love" category, i.e. even if everyone acknowledges that it's bad, the major EH fan might still want it to be included as canon because it's there.  But that opinion varies.  And I suppose you can never please everyone no matter what you do.  :P

El-Hazard Online / Re: You mean...there's a place just for me?

Yeah.  It's a bit unfortuante that the El-Hazard fanbase is sporadic.  It's also hard to find specialized "fanatics", heh.  The series is not as popular as some of the "bigger names" out there, so new entries typically are hard to come by.

I once helped do an EH panel at an anime convention (I can't remember which one that was...)  That was about the best I could do for EHOL's advertising I suppose.  :)

The sad fact of the matter is that this place is very specialized on something that's just not that huge at this point in time.  So, yes, I apologize, but this forum is a bit slow and everything is pretty much halted otherwise.  Still, feel free to look upon past topics, and always be glad that there were still people here to greet you.

Hi.  I haven't had internet for almost a month during my home -> university transition, so I missed these.  You definitely are quite a talented artist!  And the art looks terrific.  But yeah, as MrWhat said, it's safer to link to such images just in case the viewer happens to be in a public space.  Or put the famous "NSFW" ancronym in your topic title.

It may be just a simply matter of Mac bigotry (unintentional on Rob's part, of course).

Nah, this error is internal (reported from the ROM program itself) and is my own slip.  Seems I left out that particular image somehow... (I know, I should be ashamed... I mean, there's only a little over 560 of them...  :) )

Re-download the ROM, I hope it's fixed now.

El-Hazard Online / Re: Problems, possible bug on el hazard game
« on: July 20, 2005, 03:46:00 pm »
Yeah, there's quite a few little subtle bugs like that.  It can be hard to catch those because it'd require like several play testers playing the game a hundred times "stress testing" every scenario.  Generally we never did a scene without making sure it didn't repeat under basic conditions, but very often, as can be expected with an RPG with so many altering tags, there's little weird "didn't think about it" type of situations that can occur...

But usually when someone doesn't appear when you think they're supposed it's because of some sort of stupid thing you didn't do, like talk to a townperson for meaningless chat.  That's not a bug nor is it something I would've done; that's just the way the Saturn game was [poorly] designed.

If there's ever anything you really just can't figure out why it's not occuring, let me know and I'll look it up in the script to try to tell you everything that you need to do prior to it.

Considering the fact that Ifurita sent Makoto and the others to El Hazard before she even left it, the mode of transportation to El Hazard crosses over time as well as dimensions (otherwise Makoto would have gotten there 10,000 years too late). Even if these people leave to El Hazard 10 years after Makoto, you do not necessarily need to make them arive 10 years later.

Of course not.  But there's a certain element of "fun" we can derive from having an outside party kind of step into the mess late.

Y'know, this is very interesting.  I never really thought to take the approach of an Earthian third party to El-Hazard before.  Kind of interesting to have someone on the outside view things and [initially] have no real idea about the stuff that happened...

Of course, with all the fanfiction out there, I can't promise it's never been done before.  But at least this is the first time I've heard of it and I like it.

Wel, I have no idea.  First, by clicking on your name, the recorded score was only 65%.  (Which would keep MP3 access forbidden, naturally.)  If what you said is true, and you honestly did score better at 80 or 90%, then I have no idea what happened, unless you were unlucky enough to attempt a test back when we were suffering those weird "write-lock" failures of the server.  I even just used my test account with a score set at 65% and earned a 90% just to duplicate this and it updated perfectly fine.

I'll just take your word for it and hope you're an honest person and fix your score at 90%.  :P

Well... the many sections of this site are a great place to look, y'know.  Scour the scanned artbooks, the fanart, the doujinshis, and -- not for the faint of heart -- the H-doujinshis.  That's all the stuff of Shayla I can possibly give you.  :P

Sweet! Never seen that one before, Jinnai and TV Iffy in traditional dress!

I can't remember where it's from... but I think one of the art books?

... I think it's featured in one of the information books.  Could be promotional art or something, which could explain the staff using a non-finalized design.
