Speaking of dumb customer stories, I have quite a few. But the one that probably stands out as the most astonishingly, unbelievably stupid happened when I was working in the snack bar (
) at a movie theater. Some yuppie couple walks up to the counter, just as fresh popcorn is spilling out of the popper. Now, we did have a reputation for popping in advance sometimes, bagging it up and dumping it in the serving bins when we were swamped. before you go to the movies, imbiciles.... ). But I mean, this was just being made! Anyway, the woman asks me, quite seriously, "Is the popcorn fresh when it comes out of the popper?" I just stared at her blankly, my mouth hanging open like that teacher from Azumanga Daioh. I was completely astonished at the utter stupidity...
