Locales/A River Village

From EHOL

This location only appears in the first El-Hazard TV Series - The Wanderers.

This is a small village of tent living people on the edge of the hot and dry deserts of El-Hazard. It thrives because of the river that flows by their village, providing water to keep the town and its people alive.

Located near the village is a large palace-like villa, which is explained as being the 'summer home' of the Rohstarian royal family. It holds many memories of her parents for the young Rune Venus.

This is the site for one of Jinnai's very early attacks. He first dams the river so to prevent water from coming into the village and then sets fire to it. After the village manages to prevent total catastrophe by using the last of their water to put out the fire, Jinnai launches the second phase of his plan, by offering water to the village at an exorbitant price, with the threat of more attacks if the village refuses. Fortunately, Jinnai is thwarted by the quick thinking of Makoto, the strength of Fujisawa and some sacrifices by Rune Venus.

Once water was restored, the village returned to its peaceful existence.
