Here's my first attempt at Jinnai's song.  Like I've said many times before, I'm still a beginner, so don't expect too much  ^^;

The Conqueror Jinnai Katsuhiko

Afura's song is next.  Afura sings/speaks in a dialect, so I'm not doing as well with her lyrics.  But, it should be better than nothing, I hope.

Which song should I try after that?  I know a few of these songs have been translated, or at least attempted-- exactly which ones are still completely untranslated?

I'm also starting a Comic Anthology script.  I think I'll try to make a first pass thru the CA before I tackle the doujinshi.  The Roman Album and the Alt World Memories books are still too difficult for me, I think.

Never quite got that one, eh?  I'm not even quite sure what to make of it from the random tidbits you DID pick up.  :P

Nonetheless, excellent work, MrWhat!  Do you want this publically linked?

As for a next one... I dunno, Gold Finger?  Anything that's named for Fatora worries me and priques my curiosity.  :P  (It IS a very upbeat song, though, and if I were to use it in something, I'd surely want to at least get the gist of what she's singing about.  Although I'm sure we all have an idea.  ^^; )

Yeah, I couldn't make anything out of ha-ya-gu-i.  And I don't know why Jinnai's singing about gyouza (pan-fried dumplings), but there's no other way I know to translate that.

That next-to-last line might be an idiom, or a pun, or slang language.  Or it could even be random nonsense in the original Japanese.  Anway, I need to shop for books of Japanese idioms and/or street language soon.

How about if you link to this El-Hazard-translations page that I just made:

http://echoalpha.com/Japanese/ElHazard.html

That might be better than linking to individual translations (I might move things around on you) or Japanese/index.html (I might add some other Japanese stuff that you won't care about).

Gold Finger?

Great.  Will do.  Fatora's song was actually my next choice too, after Afura's song.  I can pick out a few words just listening to it, so that's a promising start.

slightly off topic,
Mr. What, if one would want to learn Japanese little by little. day by day, would you be able to recommend any specific website out of tons  from google search query?

So far I've been using http://www.japanese-online.com/LANGUAGE/index.htm and http://www.learn-japanese-online.com/introduction.html (fun one)

Also how about one with kanji reading emphasis? I'm not finding any so far

I'm sure she'll see it when she loads this topic... don't constantly post something about the Ifurita member every time.  So far I can only see you being here strictly to bother her.  ;p

I don't know if this is common knowledge, but it was the first I'd learned of it, as an El-Hazard fan-boy and a beginning / intermediate Japanese student.

I was randomly searching Japanese expressions that include neko (cat).  I found an idiom, nekokaburi, meaning "wolf in sheep's clothing," but literally meaning-- "wearing a cat."

That CLUNK! you just heard was the sound of another piece of the Big Picture falling into place in my brain  :P
