But not to fly far from this topic, here's one of my drawings. Of course it's not so great as ifurita chan's, but at least I tried something.
I like it: simple, yet very well done. It's always nice to see that, even in 2007, new fanart pops out every once in a while. El-Hazard isn't dead! (yet?? )

I saw this via Animenation.comApparently Geneon is selling (quite! ) cheaper Region 1 NTSC DVDs of the OVAs. This is good news for those people that didn't get (or afford ) the OVA special edition box. For what I can tell OVA1 comes in 2 volumes and OVA2 in one volume (just like the OVA special edition box). However it seems that they are sold separately only (they may release a bundle...?). The Geneon's official page for the 1st vol. of OVA1 doesn't describe any special features..., apart from the 5.1 Japanese audio. :-/ [EDIT]: Geneon's official page for the 2nd vol. of OVA1 says that this DVD will have the following extra features: - Line Art
- Non-Credit Opening & Ending
- DVD Credits
It's not much, but... better than nothing [/EDIT] I didn't find a picture of the OVA2 DVD, but here are the others: As you can see, no big difference on the covers (same usual Hanken Cels used in a different disposition). However I'd like to see if the OVA2 cover surprises me, like the one found by Nepotism Chainsaw (there aren't many Hanken Cels from OVA2 around).

Hi vicky, welcome to the forums. Wow... triple post... be more careful next time... As you must realise, this forum isn't very active. So, if I where you I would discuss this directly with Helio at the ChatterBean Homepage.

Needless to say... that's illegal.... Buy it on ebay, under the name of El-Hazard: The Symphonic World, if you really want it.

fan art shaellah by me
Very nice art! (although with a very european drawing style ) You are quite talented: have you ever consider using Photoshop and a digital tablet? Do you let me use your Afura's artwork to make a wallpaper (I'll probably have to trace it...)?

This book is one of the many anthologies about El-Hazard. I think you can find a review (or at least an announcement) about this book in the El-Hazard "Perfect Guide" edited by Bamboo Comics (I think the image you posted is from there). Anyway, as far as I know the book is quite rare I've never seen it on eBay and only once or twice on the japanese yahoo auctions, so I don't know very much about it. Here's a colour pic of it I found on the net sometime ago, along with other books I've never heard about: Also, the illustration on the cover apears in one of the El-Hazard artbooks.

I do know what you mean, even I had some things planned to post here (as you can see on my signature and on this thread http://www.el-hazardonline.net/cgi-bin/ehol/YaBB.pl?board=ehol;action=display;num=1104708616;start=0, but due to my college work, I simply don't have the time. However, I somehow manage to buy El-Hazard stuff all the time. ... y'know, it just occured to me, I guess I just could write forum threads. In my point of view, that would be better because the forum members can say their point of view about a specific update much easier. (Take the AIC comic anthology issue for example ).

I'm hoping to use them as reference for some animations I'm doing Making some animations for some El-Hazard story? That would be interesting... However, since the pages are only identified by number, and not by what's on them, it'll take me a considerable amount of time to go through and find all the significant 'Bugrom' pics, concept sketches, frames and backgrounds that I need. I think it isn't very easy to identify all the pages of the books... All the contributers do this as a hobby, and doing this for hundreds of pages would take weeks... But, if your're really on to animation, I really suggest you buy the books (get them on e-bay), because this way you can get the hole thing much better (you don't have any headaches with the bandwidth and you can get resolution calibrated images for tracing, chromakeying, advanced masking....). Moreover, don't forget that this stuff is AIC/Pionner copyright. So, I do think that the scans around here are just for fan's reference. If you really want to use them on a project, buy the books (that's what I did, I bought all the books ).

Brings to mind a certain red-headed tiger-girl from the mountains of China who appears in the Fairy Gods digital novel series. Almost a year later.... Fairy Gods digital novel series? Never heard of it... What is it? You're not talking about the game called "Le Roman de la Rene à Gertruds", which is from the same author of the El-Hazard series, are you? Here's and image of the artbook (I only have the artbook and not the game itself... )
