Well I don't think I have it on my books... So I can't get one with higher resolution... Usually these hard to find images are from the Japanese media releases (LDs, VHS, etc.), but I'm just speculating. I say this because the OVA 2 and Alternative World Japanese LDs are filled with artwork that you don't see anywhere else... All I can say is... keep looking. Every time I do a Google Search about El-Hazard, I end up getting new images and stuff I didn't know of, so don't give up!

Hi! Welcome to the forums! I think I have a digital copy of that image somewhere (I'll have to find it first ). However, I don't remember seeing it in the artbooks. I'll confirm it though and tell you if I've found it. ninja-edit: quick search on Google gave this: However, I think I can find one with better resolution....

Wow... Al Hazard? When I saw the thread title, I thought it was a typo! But that's a great find: I really need to see Lyrical Nanoha. Yeah, I recently saw the first season of Nanoha and had similar thoughts. It could well be an homage. If it isn't, though, it makes me wonder if "El-Hazard" (or some similar sounding phrase) actually has some meaning in some middle-eastern language. Maybe it translates to "paradise" or something like that.
Well... The only thing I could find about that is the word "Hazar", which means "One Thousand" in Persian. The Hazara people is named after that...

Hi! Welcome to the forums! How about a deviation for the 15th El-Hazard Anniversary in May/2010? About the RPG: it stopped a long time ago, and I doubt we'll have enough people interested in resuming it. However, it may be of some inspiration for FanFics...

Are you guys talking about what is described in the Trinkets section?
Never-produced "P-Anime"
"Pioneer introduces comics with our popular anime characters featured in new adventures!" Back and front to an advertisement that came with a soundtrack talking about a domestic manga El-Hazard series that never actually got produced.
Yeah.... it was a pity that they weren't produced.

Welcome! She appears on some El-Hazard text/story books and on the first radio drama, if I'm not mistaken. EDIT: I remembered this old thread, back in the day . One peculiar aspect of these books is the fact that all 3 Ifuritas (that you can see on page 62 of El-Hazard Illustrations - 1997 or in one of the pull-out posters of the El-Hazard AIC comics anthology) enter in this story! These 2 books are not comics, they're some sort of novel...
Apparently she wasn't on the radio drama, but I can confirm the story book (just checked it, as I own one).

From Earth Chapter One -As Long as it Takes: I always wondered just how Ifurita managed to build that mausoleum that Makoto found her in. It couldn't have been easy. This sentence made my day! This series of El-Hazard: Earth seem pretty interesting. I see you also have a story there, I think I'll read it in the weekend.

Welcome to the Forums! I believe that it may be because the relationship of Makoto with Ifurita is only explored in the OVA1. The other OVA and TV series (ie, Alternative World and Wanderers) don't explore it and allow other characters to develop relationships with Makoto. Because these lead to funny/memorable situations, the fans "forget" about the Makoto/Ifurita original pairing when writing the fics/doujins. That least is my opinion. I must confess I don't read much fanfics (apart from... MrWhat's fanfics ), but I remember an old site about it: http://alumni.imsa.edu/~solarian/fics/elhaz/. For what is worth, the Tsubura's El-Hazard Manga does pair Makoto and Ifurita...

Thanks for the info! That was a doubt I had for a long time. But in fact I will look when it was translated, maybe The Alternative World wasn't already produced...
That's correct: The Alternative World series are more recent than the Wanderers.
