Good to know they are continuing, as they left some things open at the end of the first season. And they still have yet to really show Peorth and Hild. ;D

El-Hazard Online / Re: Thinking: System Update for Site Splits

I also like the dropbox idea. That keeps the website in the hands of those that can be trusted (and can actually build a good webpage) but still allows anyone with a bit of news to submit it for perusal. (Of course, any new news would be checked for validity first, if possible ;) )

Anyway, what other anime were you thinking of adding, if you don't mind my asking?

As a quick update, I finally got to sit down and watch the DVD release. I'm quite happy that the dub is good, though Bell's voice will take a little getting used to (not that it is bad, but because it isn't as "soft" as the previous voice actors). Urd's voice sounds alright (in the voice over in the first episode) but I think I'm going to have to hear her be "sultry" before I'm happy with it ;D (And Skuld's voice obviously isn't in the first 5 episodes)

Well, if you're insisting on unlicensed anime, here are a few good ones I've come across:

Mai-HiME (completely finished, 26 eps): Mai is just your typical high-school student who is on the way to her new high school with her brother Takumi. On the ferry to the island where the school is located, ship workers rescure a girl floating in the water, who is holding a large sword which drops into the water. Mai gives the girl CPR and in the process meets two other people going to the school she is now attending. That night, a battle takes place on the ship between the girl that was rescued (who has somehow gotten her sword back) and an unknown attacker with pistols and a mechanical dog mecha. The unknown girl warns Mai not to go to the school before the battle destroys the ferry, dumping Mai into the water. Mai then wakes up on the school grounds surrounded by a circle of still smouldering grass... (I recommend Static-Subs' fansub of this series)

Tsubasa Chronicle (unfinished, episodes released weekly, currently 19 eps released): Sakura is the princess of the Clow kingdom, Shaorin is the son of an archeologist in the Clow kingdom who is studying some mysterious ruins outside of the Clow kingdom's main city. The two become good friends quickly. One night, Sakura is mysteriously "called" to the ruins while Shaorin was working there. Seeing Sakura disappear inside the ruins, Shaorin follows her inside, where she activates something inside the ruins, growing large, luminescent wings in the process. In an attempt to rescure her, Shaorin tackles Sakura, who had begun to disappear through the wall. In the process the wings shatter and disappear in a flurry of glowing feathers and Sakura is now unconscious. In order to save Sakura, Shaorin must take her to the dimentional witch who will help him save her, for a price...

Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (unfinished, episodes released weekly, currently 7 episodes released): First of all, you should only watch this if you've seen the previous series (Fumoffu is optional, but very funny). Souske Sagera is still the bodyguard and classmate of Chidori. And he still has problems integrating into society. A rescue mission of several diplomats in an underground tunnel goes wrong when Mithril is betrayed from the inside and one of the diplomats is a plant from the terrorist group involved in the kidnapping. There is also at least one more lambda-driver-capable arm slave in operation aside from the Arbalist. New, very deadly (and quite possibly more insane) villians threaten Mithril and the safety of the world. (WARNING: This series has two twin assassin girls that seem to have a more then healthy "relationship" with each other... and there is nudity)

Hope that gives you a few ideas, all series are currently unlicensed and are available from AnimeSuki via Bittorrent.

Well, I wasn't here last year to post in the "top 10" list, so I'll just post my top 10 anime for this year (it's always really hard for me to rank them from 1 to 10... so take the rankings with a grain of salt ^^; ) And in some cases the anime has a few versions, so I include all versions I liked.

1. Mai HiME
2. El Hazzard (OVA 1, Wanderers)
3. Full Metal Panic (original, Fumoffu, and Second Raid, which is unfinished at this time)
4. Azumanga Daioh
5. Ah! My Goddess (OVA, Movie, TV series)
6. Elfen Lied
7. Tsubasa Chronicle (unfinished at this point... but very good)
8. Place Promised in Our Early Days
9. Scrapped Princess
10. Noir

El-Hazard Online / Re: Question about Dubs
« on: August 03, 2005, 10:29:50 am »
Well ok, if you're talking about JUST the El-Hazzard OSTs then yeah, both are bootleg CDs. I thought you were referring to their entire stock of OSTs. Sorry for the misunderstanding ;D

Just be aware that all of Anime Castle's El-Hazard OSTs are by SonMay

Also be aware that this statement is not true. I have seen several OSTs on their site which are domestic releases (Pioneer, Genoen, etc). Simply check the publisher of each OST, which they list for you.

I tend to shop at Anime Castle for things I can't find in my local stores. They carry pretty much everything you could ever want related to anime. And here is their El-Hazard section (well, the DVDs anyway, the books and cds and such are in a different section) with all of the El-Hazard DVDs made (including the box sets)

To get back on track, the first season of the OMG TV series has concluded (24 was the last episode)! They went out with a bang with the "Terrible Master Urd" story arc, with a few slight additions/changes. One change that I really liked was putting in Lind as Heaven's "backup plan" in case Belldandy could not take care of matters. So we got to see Lind in action, yay! I would say there is a pretty good chance of a second season and I look forward to it. Peorth did not show during this season (aside from a single pic in the image slideshow during the credits of the last episode), Hild showed twice (in sillouhette only), and the Ninjettes showed in the intro. I look forward to seeing them in future seasons. ;D There may be two more OVA episodes created for the DVDs, but it isn't officially confirmed as far as I know.

Definately a series to pick up on DVD when it hits the states! (or whatever your locale is)

El-Hazard Online / Re: El-Hazard: The World of Ruling Women?

I think the reason all of them are women is so Mokoto can be oblivious to the advances of all the most powerful people in El-Hazard ;D

If you like Freedom Force a lot, I would suggest checking out the sequel, Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich. Quality gaming right there! ;D

WoW is "easy"? I guess it could be considered "easy" if you happen to love grinding xp from monsters like FFXI or EQ. The crafting could be considered "easy" if you like loosing materials when you (usually) fail while trying to level up a crafting skill...

Not to say other MMO games are bad (I have played several other MMO games including FFXI, EQ2, Shadowbane, DAoC, Asheron's Call 2, City of Heroes, Star Wars Galaxies, Matrix Online, and Guid Wars... some more then others), but WoW takes out a lot of the tedium associated with MMO gaming.

You can solo to 60 (though it will not be as easy as grouping to 60), grinding monsters is disguised as quests with a decent chunk of tangable reward, crafting isn't fustrating, and so on. Sure, there are people that hit 60 in a few weeks, but those are the people that have no lives and just blaze through the game quickly.

Ok, enough about WoW. You can read all about it at the official site ;D I usually play on Lightbringer as alliance, though I have a few alts scattered across a couple of other servers that I don't play nearly as much.
