TV Ifurita. Hands down.
Then Shayla, OVA Ifurita and Fatora.

On the subject of Fatora...

And speaking of Scrapped Princess, for those of you following the series, doesn't Shizu remind you of Ifurita? She's a weapon of incredible power, seemingly without feelings or emotions. Yet, the more she follows him around town, the more human she seems to become. Is her Sim counterpart really gone, after all? ^_^

I think that several characters are really pretty much Demon Gods =P
From the divine ones to the devilish ones(the dragon, anyone?). Including of course Cz/shizu. Whom I really like. =/ Poor her =/

It seems to be done by AIC/pioneer from the logos. Rob said it was done by them to make more money from the cels ^^.

Oh and I know what screentone is ^_- I just didn't know the english word. The german one would be "rasterfolie", which roughly would mean something like screen plastic ^^'

Which wouldn't have helped to be mentioned here, as I doubt anyone would have known what I meant. I've even used such a thing for fun once. ^^

Saucer, its not a doujinshi as I see it. ^^ Seems to be pretty official. I am, as said, not sure what it exactly is, but it seems to be both, due the implemention of these "grey dot" things I don't know the english name of. These are not featured on cels ^^

And Rob - I'm not working at a reprint site either ^_-
To reprint, you should scan around 600 dpi, as far as I know. The raws get to 25MB and more. Thats why TheHawks managed to get a manga volume release with the size of 600MB once(yep, 200 pages). Tho they don't exactly encourage reprinting either. =P

As for actual pages...with 300dpi they usually go around 200k/b. A manga chapter is around 3MB - 20 pages. Calculate =) But kay kay,  1150 it is then.

I shall do so, master-admin. ^_^
Tho I'll obviously pick the Ifurita (and Shayla ^^ no worry, Tsukasa) pages among the non-color ones. As for the color ones - 150 dpi as well? are you sure? We at Snoopycool even use 300 dpi for the manga...and even more for the color ^^' So I just want to backcheck.

What about pixel sizes? 1150 height?

Anyhow, at weekend I'll try to get all the color pages done. And some other pages as well. And I am still miffed. More Ifurita. Meh =/ I hope they can be pressed hard enough to get most of the pages without harming the manga - despite its lack of Ifuritaness(only some appearances in 2 volumes are not enough!) it still is a collectors item, after all =) If not, then the pages won't be complete, but that should be okay too, I guess... and if it works well, I might even end up scanning vol 4 and 5... but most likely not the others for obvious reasons.

El-Hazard Online / Wanderers Manga

Now that I have my evil hands on this item, I'll talk a bit about it. Hwee ^^

First thing I noticed was that the artist who did the cover s was  not among the original artists - Jinnai looks different. ifurita doesn't, so I don't care.

The manga pretty much covers the entire series(with one noticable exception, see below), as it seems, and includes several of the Wanderers-related design scetches also featured in various artbooks(who all are up on this site).

Inside the manga starts with some color pages - not of the actual story but of other things. Character profiles, a miniposter of Nanami and Rune, Screenshots from the anime, the like. Some of the artwork there I know, some I do not.

The manga itself seems indeed to be an amalgation of monochromed cels and drawn stuff.
I can tell, because there are two types of panels in there, and the complicated area images/the ones of many people etc are all of one type and look really like I remember them from the anime. Exactly actually. So thats the Cel portion. One in four panels, roughly, is like that, not sure on the actual amount. The others seem to be drawn - close to the anime(notable in Ifuritas expression when she confronts Shayla and Makoto in the bugrom hive), but apparently drawn, and not just a cel - since you see the dots mangaka use to shade(you know these, eh? ^^)

All good eh? not really.
Apparently, most things I like about the anime isn't even in there - yep I cvhecked if they're the correct number(yep), and the fifth ends as wanderers does.

What is missing? Well.
-The episode which had Jinnai take control of Ifurita
-Ifurita and her whirlwind expierince.
-Ifurita and her city-blowing-up expierince
-Ifurita and her sneaking-in-and-taking-to-holiday expierince.
-Nanami taking over the bugrom(and Ifurita).

To me it looks as if the manga should have been 6 volumes, not 5. And yes, it does annoy me that all that was cut contains Ifurita in one way or another. Grrr. >=/
Atleast the speech she delivers in the bugrom hive is in there, else I'd have gone ballistics XD

I'll scan a couple of pages later for this site. Weekend I think. Just tell me the quality you need. And also which images you'd prefer.

I wouldn't worry TOO much, Alexei. I tend to start to balk when models and figures start getting into the $50 to $60 range, and most of the nice TV Ifurita models I've seen have been at LEAST $100. I just don't see myself paying that much for a figurine. Even a cute one like Iffy. :-[

....

Wait a second. You have seen some? You probably will feel my murderous intent from over the ocean right now. Yes, that c hilly feeling is coming right from me. And no, the big clouds of dooms aren't far either.

Seriously though, where DID you see them? I looked for so long and only ever saw the screenshot of ONE O.o Please, when you see one out of your range, please tell me oO Unless its totally out of range, I'd claim it ^^'
Yeah, I'm insane, but I collect odd things, and I can since I save the money everyone else is spending on alcohol >=3

If you ever find something you think the site DOESN'T have, please notify me.  If you can scan it -- or even rip it if it's a CD of some sort -- that's even better.  The only way to truly improve this place as a whole is to combine the efforts of many, after all.

P.S.  I've spent over USD$1,500 on El-Hazard.  "Scary."  :P

Well, I already asked if you would need scans of the mangas. ^_^ That was me. So no worry. I have as much interest of supporting EH as everyone else here. it was my first show, and I'm still loyal to it. I only did not join this forum when it started because I missed it. Repeatedly. No clue why.

If you don't have it already, I could also scan some stuff of the wanderers DVD box if needed once it arrives, getting that as well. but I doubt the need for that =(

As for the money thing...I shouldn't be off that much. I'm in germany, so all EH I bought that was english gives me atleast 5$ shipping - if I am lucky. So, for EH, I probably have paid 100-200$ shipping. I have bought wanderers three times, OVA1+2 two times including the DVD and ALT one time(too much). Add some artbooks, and I'm not far of that number =P Tho I'd most likely not reach it. Yet. Would an TV Ifurita figure be on ebay, then I would, because I would move hell and heaven to outbid Spanner. XD

YEAY. Lets all impress ourselves with "who is the biggest no-life who spends too much money on el hazard". Happy, wee ^^

ANyone want to join in?

Well, I usually don't download artbooks. Its usually just nice to have it as such. Collection =)

But eh, atleast that means they exist =D Wee ^_^ *recently bought more EH-related stuff than ever before, scary*

OOC: Actually I didn't know there was an actual rather good variant. The two versions I know(a little) of are -really- dark and nasty. Frankensteinian indeed oO

Forgive me please if this sucks(badly) ^^'

BIC:
It took Shitia a while to answer. Now, that had been unexpected. Finally, she showed him a faint smile.
"I thank you for sharing this story with me." She said slowly, head head slightly tilted to the right.
Really, that man was formidable- and not only from her own, naturally limited perception. Although she had to admit, she most likely was giving him a lot of credit for that story. Most likely more than he actually deserved. But it HAD been  the nicest thing a human had said, like, ever. Admittedly, that had not been very hard, but still.

"Forgive me, though, for distrusting you. You seem to be someone who likes to look behind surfaces before making decisions. That I like." she paused for a second.
Then she stepped towards him and pointed at the books, changing the topic. It was not that comfortable for her, it brought memories. And she had other things on her mind.

"You seem to have a healthy interest in our history. You probably realize that you now have the chance to hear of history right from a witness, instead of using written words that might be slightly altered?"she smiled again - which was rare, a thing the young human could not know. "You also might be quite interested in recent history. A thing you will not find in the books, for reasons that are understandable, yet, on the same time might cause distrust. "
Shitia knew that Nahato would not approve of this, however, she had different opinions. For instance, in her opinion, truth was a mightier sword than the best plot could ever be. What good was it if a child spilled the beans? Distrust. And besides - she would be there to gather the shards, should it go the wrong way.

OOC:
Yes, I usually do better than that. its the best in all the last days x.X

Not only that, he also had this:

*points to the character on the upper right*
Guess who's there?? ^_^

Well, and since the guy actually, finally, replied to me(2nd try to contact him!) thats now all mine. Minemineminemineminemineminemine. Nevermind that I probably pay more for shipping than for the actual item =P But artbooks are expensive, after all. ^^' And usually more expensive than that.

Yes, unlike it contains artwork like the later Hunter X Hunter chapters, it is definitely a steal. And if its anything like expected, then it'd be a steal for $25, both the OVA and the TV one.

What is interesting is that I neither saw either ever before. Not even the actual artwork on the cover.Mystery Mystery. Ohwell, if its a cheat, I'll be very sad =/

Breast size B should be fine for Fatora. ^^
Atleast thats what I think. Size A won't do her much justice.(obviously, in comparison, every other female has around DDDDDDDDD, but oh well. Anime bust sizes are a mystery. Ther ewas one anime which had the main character knock over a couple of books because her breasts were so big. I would find that scary. It was shown in the AMV mocking 'fanservice'

Faking that while showing no skin is easy, B isn't that big. Tho, however - I did never notice she had a different cup size in TV2. Must be because I don't look at that, unlike a certain someone I won't mention. XD
in your case, I'd definitely pick OVA2 - that way, you escape the taint of TV2 AND have it easier. Sounda great to me =P

Ahem.

And as for me - nah. Its probably solely because of my hair and the fact that I have no beard and tend to talk pretty high for some reason(much merriment at school on my cost, whee!). Males don't have long hair and no beard after all ^^

As said: I'd wish I'd be feminine enough to do that. But to actually be, I'd probably have to hunger myself way below the male average(She is skinny), and then learn how to properly do makeup, which, just as that, would be quite troublesome.

However, as for Ifuritas bust -> while she is showing skin, I know that there is a way to fake that. I am not exactly sure about it, I'd just have to check some sites if I really wanted -that-. Latex can do anything these days, from terrible wounds to completely alien faces. Breasts are pathetically easy in comparison.

The biggest problem would thus not be the actual costume(most of it is actually very easy, as said, I was pretty mfar in planning it - alot of it can actually be bought and modified, just take her trousers), but to avoid freaking out everyone I know ^_^' Say, I'd go to Ayacon with that costume. Now, what would, say, Tsukasa say about it =D
THATS the problem at the entire thing ^_^' Since In iffys case, I'd have to be serious about her, to do her justice. I'd hate to mess her up, of all characters.

Only female I ever got across well was Ukyo from Ranma. That was on a german con, though, and she hardly required any makeup at all since I did an earlier form of her. ^^ I fared surprisingly well in our lil Ranma group.

And why wouldn't it work? I know a male "fatora", and few actually noticed. In addition, I know of a male TV Ifurita, and he didn't seem overly manly. The pic was on a certain ML so long ago, and it looked fine ^^

So generally I think its totally fine. Unless, of course, you are said 18ton bearded guy with hair all over his body. Thats ridiculous, but that person isn't paying attention and/or doing effort, but doing it as a total joke - an overdone joke, I must add. But other than that...there are people cosplaying as espers, dragons, pokemon - so why not a guy who pays attention a girl? Doesn't seemso nasty to me. As said, would I actually be more cute, then I'd try it like that myself - and you CAN appear more feminine if you use makeup. Which I have never gotten myself, so don't ask me.

Due my behaviour quite some random people think I'm female anyway. "nono, let the young lady pass first"

"I think its your job" (Male person at airport to female person, on the subject of checking for nasty mean weapons on me)

XD So, really. I don't see the problem. Gender roles are funny anyhow XD
And I really need to find a way to shrink a few inches and seem cute otherwise. -.-'

However...

Fatora: "Ohoho. See, even these stupid earthlings have noticed MY beauty!" *goes towards dooky*
"Look Alielle. Like this one!" *glomps dooky, who most likely will not resist*
"Hey...something is...squishy..."

XD Yes, its a lame alternative world joke. Sue me XD

Shitia liked what she had heard. It made the possibility more unlikely that it was a traveller sent here on purpose. And if one would, they'd make up a better story. If she hadn't known better, then she'd have thought it to be too fitting. But, of course - that was ridiculous. After all, that would mean the enemy would know about how the tribe saw itself. And that clearly was not the case. For a second she pondered on Itamars question, and then stepped back a step.

"You could say so..." Shitia said, answering"But alas, in actuality, it was the other way round, it was me who adopted them. I am not like you. I am not like anyone in this world anymore, save, probably, a few scattered individual souls, sleeping in ruins of the ancients" she thought for a moment "What am I, then? A demon, like I said."

She paused, and, upon recieving just a puzzled look, she continued. "Oh...I see. They have not told you, yet. Well, I do not mind...to tell you myself. You would have found out soon enough anyway, about just one of the many insane choice of weaponry of that old war"

She leaned against the wall, and closed her eyes.
"Demons. We are, essentially, weapons. Formed like a human, for convenience. After all, that makes the surprise bigger when we start fighting. And, instead of bombs, we can be used over and over again. I was human once, I think. Parts of me certainly are. Other parts are not."

She removed one of her gloves, and showed Itamar what was embedded into her palm. It was some sort of crystal, and something was fluctuating inside it. [OOC: Forgot it in the profile. Thats one of the things that resemble the Gems Shayla has. they are apparently needed for said style =) ]
After he had had enough time to inspect it, she put the glove on again. "It were the same humans that are living on this world that made me - or more precisely, their ancestors. It was far later when I broke free of their control, that I found the people you see here - their ancestors, actually. Ever since then, I have tried to protect them. But.." the tone of her voice got harder "that has not succeeded all the time."

She finally opened her eyes again.
"That is what I am. A weapon, made by a whim. My hands are, most likely, soiled by the blood of more people than the number of people combined that you have met. A fact I cannot forget, for I was made without the ability to forget, at all."

She smiled at him. "This world has brought forth many weapons, some of such power that its creators could only have been insane. Some of us demons were supposed to level entire cities. Of course, the creators are long gone, their empires have crumbled. But still, there are nations who feast upon the weapons of old. You probably remember that all of us moved shortly after you came. This was because they feard that the Roshtarians could discover our hideout, and use said weapon. The weapon is like a moon - and its power is simply to obliterate anything it is aimed at. That is all it is made for."

Now she looked straight at him. "That is why my people are so afraid. Would the ones using that weapon ever discover our position..."
She stopped, and looked down.

Of course, Nahato would most likely not approve of her directness, but she felt that that part of the world had to be told to this stranger as well. And besides - it was not that she had said anything bad about her people, simply because she saw few bad things. Few, not none. However, depending on Itamars code of morale, she herself might pose a problem to him. She would see. In the long run, it was all the same to her. The truth was, in her opinion, the best witness, and so, she would show him her truth.

OOC: He probably might think she's somewhat like a Golam Oo' If I remember that correctly. last post for now.

OOC: Ak. Please forgive the overly amount of angst in this post.
Usually I don't do that ^^'
Gak. I probably shouldn't send that x.X'

BIC:
Shitia lowered her head slightly. "Do not worry. This is not a problem. It is merely a side effect of what I am. I do not mind you noticing. But that is that." she said with a mild tone in her voice, and then fixed her gaze directly on his.
"What I want is you."

She closed the door, and turned around.
"More precisely, I want to be...sure."

She gave him a rather sad look now. "I have lived many, many years among these people. Much longer than you can imagine. I will not let anyone harm them, do you understand?"

She gave him a weak smile and stepped a little closer. "You are learning more and more about us " she used the 'us' without a pause "every day now. It should be fair, though, to do the same in reverse. I would like to get to know about you. I want to know who you are."

Again, she looked to the side. "Don't mistake me. You do not have to answer me. This is nothing official. I am not a representative of our governement. You could say that I, however, guard this place and its people. I have done a poor job at it, sometimes. You have seen one occassion of that. It was one of my biggest failures..."
For a moment, a shadow crossed her face. She was definitely remembering it, and it was not a happy memory, not at all.
"I still see that scene each time I rest. I do not want to have this ever again."
She sighed. "Thus, I want to know if I can trust you being here. You might see that as unfair, I guess." she sighed again and continued, more to herself than to the human. "But I cannot help it. We have to sacrifice something, in the long run, and if its just sympathy.."

But she quickly caught herself and continued. "Well. Do you mind me so rudely interrupting your affairs to inquire into your personal history?"

OOC:
Went edifferent than I had thought oO' Again: if it won't work, I'll gladly edit. One PM is enough. I don't want to angst around the entire RPG, so really ^^'''
