"So... is it pure?"

Now you know.

Hay, it's me again. I got motivated to visit after a chance encounter with Spanner on the EH yahoogroup, of all things. Another year older, another year... wiser. Actually, it's been closer to two years since my last post. Crap, I feel old.

I pretty much grew up here, you know. Seriously, when I joined I was... 2003... I was sixteen, holy god. Pushing 21 like an old fogey.

Some things haven't changed, though. :3 Go on, guess which things.

Welcome back Xel-chan! Where you been?

I'll have you know that I...

uh.

Oh, yeah! College, that's where I've been! *grumble* An institute of higher learnin'.

EDIT: Clearly institutes of higher learning are worthless, as they have not taught me to close my tags.

One might argue that they are, in fact, more mature than male yuri writers, since they tend to focus more on the romance and character interaction more than the hawt sexx0r, whereas men regard the romance and character interaction is just a regretable formality which needs to be rushed through, or even skipped altogether to get to the good stuff.

Mmm, well. You know what I say. Or maybe you don't, so that's why I'm going to say it again: the hawt sexx0r? Just ain't fun if you can possibly stick any two (or three, or seven...) other characters in the same place and come out with the same result. The character dynamic has to be unique, you know? Otherwise, hey. You could get the same joy out of porn, right? If it was just anybody? I know I could. But people involved in fandom (at least the people I know, who are predominantly female) tend to seek out smutfic for a reason, no? There's an element of personality there that can't afford to be lost with the characters involved.

What I mean by that is, y'know. If it's smut, and it's Jinnai (come on, you knew I'd go there... not everything has changed), I want the man on the page to sound and act unmistakably like Jinnai. Maniacal cackling and all. Or not, perhaps given the circumstances, seeing as Jinnai and consensual sex appear to exist in diametric opposition to one another... but I digress.

(I need a Dooky disclaimer here: The above are generalizations, and don't necessarily apply to all yaoi and/or yuri fans and writers. There are, of course, exceptions to pretty much all things.)

Of course, of course. It goes without saying, no?

I'm not a fan of yaoi OR yuri, but I'm certainly not deluded enough to think that either medium is "superior" or "more sensible" than the other!

And that, my friend, is something so important to keep in mind. With het and general romance as well, even. It's all a matter of execution, in my humble opinion. Shit is shit, y'follow my drift? X3

By the way, my dear Mr. What. That little thing of mine is going to undergo a touchup in the next little while. Could I bother you to replace the version you've got when the time comes?

100,000 slavering shoujo maniacs could probably all your bluff, Xel dear.

BTW, welcome back!

Ohohoho! I have returned. Fear not.

And I have brought with me legal adulthood. *stonefaced*

Anyway, 100,000 slavering shoujo maniacs are no match for the mighty power of my final attack: SAUSAGE BLITZKRIEG! BONSAI! BANZAI!

From a cloud of fog appears the mysterious Xel to enlighten us once more, carting her delightful Makoto x Jinnai avatarisms.

It's a funny feeling, really-- it's like coming home, in a sense. I am scraping my brain for the inspiration for another fic, but none will come. Perhaps I'll have to resort to art instead.

Give yourself over to the Xel. I will show you the way.

Mmmyes, well. While I do find that heartrendingly beautiful, Saucer, I believe our otakuism has lost its feminine touch.

That said, if you'll all please direct your eyes to the left...

Why, hello there again. ;3

Feh, Sonic the Hedgehog. I prefer Mario.

*gets pummeled*

>O Sonic ROCKS your bitch-ass, sir!

*cough*

Oh, it's good to be back.

Dude, Sonic is teh pwnz0rz. *pumps fist aggressively*

I'm really behind the times, now, though. I remember the good ol' days of Genesis-era games and the SatAM cartoon... though truth be told, the comics were the first Sonic-related material I ever got into. I was damn hooked though, between those golden ages of 6 and 9. :D

But in this newfangled world of Sonic Adventure and 150-plus issues (I lost track after 120 or so)... it's so disorienting. I feel so old. *maudlin sigh*

And I still maintain that Robotnik/Snively is the most horrible pairing ever. LGJ's DBZ levels of wrongness can't even touch, y0.

I told you. It's all about Makoto, and Jinnai, and awww yeah. *dubious hip thrusts*

*hysterical giggling* That's... wow. Brilliance, Mr. What!

Rob. I dig the new sidepic. *former Sonic otaku* I probably have that issue lying around somewhere.

You know... I found a Robotnik/Snively fic once. Don't worry. I wet myself and passed out from the thought like I'm sure you're doing now too.
