cool, yea i've seen a lot of thsoe that u mentioned saucer but i haven't seen the slayers yet, i wasn't too big on magic knight rayearth, and i dunno slayers kinda reminded me of that so i never bothered, but yea i'll be sure to check it out, probably not till the summer though...as for hellsing i just got them shipped in yesterday and with my midterms i wasn't able to watch any of it yet, i just check out some of the extras on it and i can't wait to see the series it looks great, i'll tel lu what i think about it when i finish it.   O and betterman i gotta say is totally underrated also, i saw it on tech tv and i loved it, my only major gripe was some of the fight scenes were really hard to make out cuz of the dark atmosphere, and it seemed like to me that the monster designs were just thrown together....i mean pink tape worms....COME ON! :P  but yea it's still a great anime

ROB'S DUB NOTICE

I don't know if you're a dub fan or not (if you haven't gathered, me and Neil both praise the dub well over the original sub), but anyone who is, can I get you to ever spell "Qawoor" as "Qawool"?  The 'r' is an Engrish element.  They say "ool" on the end in the show!  And "Arjah" is pronounced "All-oo-jah" in that one moment they say it at all, so "Allujah" would be the better spelling.  For some reason AW is the only series where they didn't properly "English-fy" the names in print form, but they did in audio.

Actually yea i prefer watching it in english, well that's how i am with all anime(no matter how bad the dubbed voices can be...and even though most people who swear by the original japanese dubbing hate to hear this, japanese voice actors can be just as bad and are, but i will admit not as much though)  i always thought it was qawool but i've always seen it spelled as qawoor so i figured it was just bad pronunciation... thanks for the correction.

El-Hazard Online / does anyone like the Alternative world?
« on: May 01, 2003, 04:12:01 am »
Is it just me or do the majority of the people not like the Alternative World?  Personally i think it's great, but for some odd reason i just can't get myself to like the wanderers...maybe it's because i watched it right after i had seen the ova's and the alternative world so i had my prejudices about the characters and storyline.  Well i guess it's that and i guess it's partly because qawoor is one of my favorite characters

What's up everyone, just wondering what everyone's top 3 anime's are and any anime that you would recommend me getting because i'm not sure what to get next,  I just got hellsing and i'm debating on the tenchi series or fushigi yugi series or vandread(i'm a big space anime fan)...or if anyone has any other suggestions

My top 3 anime's are...
1.  Cowboy Bebop
2.  Martian Successor Nadesico
3.  Neon Genesis Evangelion

Other anime series worth watching(IMO):
1.  El Hazard(of course, i'm not too big on the wanderers though...sorry el hazard fans  :-/)
2.  Record of Lodoss Wars
3.  Ruroni Kenshin(although i think after shishio it starts getting repetitive and old...i guess you begin to run out of ideas after 96 episodes)
4.  Dual!(tech tv is showing it!!!! I love this series too bad it's such a short series)
5.  Street Fighter II V(i dunno i think the fight scenes in this anime are great, although they tend to reuse frame shots a lot)
6.  Generator Gawl(I bought this collection on sale for 35 bucks, and i gotta say was a 35 bucks well spent)

That's just some of them of course i could go on about other great series but these are just some of my favorite ones...who knows mayb i'll add hellsing after i get the chance to watch it...anyone got any other recommendations?

El-Hazard Online / Re: finished the OAV's and the alternative world
« on: April 21, 2003, 12:13:18 pm »
hehe what i meant when i said they never really reunited, sorry that came out wrong yea they did reunite in the first ova and i went to look back at it again, and he is a lot older when he returns to ifurita.  But what i was talking about was how he got to that point...i figured the ova2 and the alternative world would cover that, but now i realize those were more of what happened while he was in el hazard(sidequest as rob jinnai said), before he returned home to ifurita...

El-Hazard Online / finished the OAV's and the alternative world

I  finally had time to watch the el hazard's and i saw it all in one sitting.  It was good well worth the money, my only gripe is the fact that *SPOILER*

makoto never reunited with ifurita...nor did they even mention her except for a few small scenes in the alternative world...I just thought it was kinda weird cuz they made such a big deal over her and her relationship with makoto in the beginning and they never really concluded anything between the two, and unless there's any other releases following that, it still left me with questions.  o well besides that it was still a great series, i need to finish up the wanderers now.

Yea i saw Dual! and i love that series, i think it should be a little bit longer though, 13 episodes plus the OVA just didn't cut it, but it was still good.  O and to Tim the dazed guy, haha, well you see ever since i got into college(I'm an comp sci major) i have had very little time to go out and hang out with my friends anymore because i spend so much time working on my projects at home on my computer (yea i'm such a loser now), and i broke up with my girlfriend because basically i chose my schooling over her...well at least she made me choose, didnt' let me have both.  O well, i'm in college there's p lenty of women out there.  So basically without goin out with friends anymore, and no more girlfriend, i have saved up a lot of money.  ;D so that's how i can afford all these.  I actually just started collecting anime, i went on an all out anime spree one day and bought my two favorite anime's cowboy bebop and martian successor nadesico as well as the whole series to el hazard with the money i saved, and of course i worked in the summer a lot so i had a lot of cash to spare.  So basically when i get programmer's block and i can't think of what to do next i just go watch anime for an hour or two, since that's not enough time to really go out.  Haha this message went on longer than i thought, so basically taht's my life right now if u can call that a life  :P.

El-Hazard Online / hey everyone, i'm a newb with a question
« on: April 10, 2003, 02:07:00 am »
Hey everyone!

Well i just recently bought el hazard: alternative world, el hazard: the wanderers, and el hazard: the magnificent world(OVA's).  I have never seen el hazard and it looked like a cool anime so i decided to buy the entire series(because i hate leaving anime series unfinished).  well my question is, what is the order of the series?  Is it the wanderers first then the ova's then the alternative world or the other way around... or since the ova's are split into two different sections, el hazard ovas and el hazard 2 ova's do i watch the second ova's after the second series(or mayb i'm retarded and have no idea what i'm talking about   ???)  O well, this msg went longer than i expected, but yea can anyone tell me in which order should i watch el hazard? thx
