Title: Ok...so who's actually here?
Post by: hedgesmfg on October 14, 2002, 04:23:47 pm
Well, it may take some time to build up this community, but lets introduce those who are here.

Name: Stephen Edward Moellering

Age: 16....17 on Dec 31st 2002.

Sex: Male

Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA

Personality: The best way to describe me would be...a randomly silent person! ;D I'm crazy, loud, and funny if I'm around the right people, but otherwise, I'm reserved, quiet, serious to the point where I'm devoid of humor, and always a thinker.

Hobbies and interests: Gaming. Mainly the older titles from the SNES/Genesis era and the mascots and franchiese that go with them (Sonic, Mario, Metroid, Starfox, ect.) I also spend much of my time watching various anime, particularly various Gundam and other Mecha series. I guess I'm your typical geek guy. I also enjoy biking around when I have the chance.

Favorate non-anime Movie(s): Back to the Future Trilogy...of course I'm your typical Star Wars fan to.

Anime you've seen: Vision of Escaflowne+movie, all 200 subbed Sailor Moon eps+movies, all Gundam series excluding Turn-A and Victory+movies, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangelion+Movie, Armitage the 3rd, Sonic the Hedgehog OVA, Digimon Seaons 1-3(Dubb only...I wish a Subbed version would be released  :-/) and of course, El-Hazard OVA 1, 2, Alternative World, and I'm currently watched El-Hazard Wanderers.

Religion: Christian, and I'm not changing my mind, but I'm not the type to point fingers either...so don't worry.

How did you find El-Hazard online?: Well, Rob and I met in the Sonic the Hedgehog fan community. At the time, he was working on a very good fan made game called Sonic Epoch. After a while...I decided to help him out, the project came quite a ways before being passed on to someone else...and Rob then found out about EHZ, and decided to make this site. After getting ahold of the series and watching it, I gained enough interest to decide to check out the fruits of his labor once more, and here I am.

Misc: Uhh, I'm avaliable? *runs*

"Some time", indeed. I still insist that the greatest websites had no need of message boards (www.segasonic.net etc), but there was a small demand, and Rob wanted to, so yeah. ;) We'll see.

Name: Neil John Lafrenais.

Age: 16.

Sex: Male.

Location: Hants, England.

Personality: Usually interested in really geeky things. El-Hazard being no exception. I enjoy acting rowdy around friends, but am uber polite to strangers and stuff.

Hobbies and interests: Drawing, writing, being lazy, retro games (Sonic, Mario), cartoons (El-Hazard, Tenchi, Di Gi Charat), reading books (the Adrian Mole diaries, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy).

Favourite Movie: Hard to say. Probably Back to the Future at the moment. I'm in deep relish on how much it is owning me.

Animé that you've seen: (in order of viewing) "Robby the Robot", "The Moomins", "Pokémon", "Digimon Adventure" (ohoho El-Hazard JR), "Sailor Moon", "Dragonball Z", "Sonic the Hedgehog OAV", "Digimon 02", "Tenchi Muyo! Ryoohki", "Tenchi Universe", "Slayers: The Motion Picture", "Burn Up W", "Gunsmith Cats", "El-Hazard: The Magnificent World 2", "Tenchi in Tokyo", "Akira", "Slayers OAV", "El-Hazard: The Magnificent World", "Di Gi Charat", "KO Century Beast Wars", "Trigun" and "Excel Saga".

Religion: None.

How did you find El-Hazard online?: Saw Rob at the Moogle Cavern quoting Jinnai incorrectly, set him straight and  then we started talking. Talk led to the idea of something El-Hazard-y together. This lead to the site. Bingo.

Misc: I like to eat organs.

Wee, testing quote tag ;p
Well, to be honest, I don't really know if we need it yet, either.  Just a service to provide, give it a couple weeks, see if it catches on.  It'll probably best work if we start making things worth talking about particuarly ;)

Also segasonic.net was a completely different type of site, and therefore it's very true that great websites don't need a forum, especially if their design absolutely doesn't call for one.

I dunno, they might just post site complaints, tech issues, maybe gripe about your latest editorial writing, or maybe just a random EH question.  I don't really know if it'll spawn "community" or not.  Of course, word-of-mouth is always the hope.

If it's as completely useless as that stupid "hello" script I had about a month ago, then just like it it will be removed.

And now, to keep theme...

Name: Robert Andrew Showalter.

Age: 19.

Sex: Male.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

Usually interested in really geeky things. El-Hazard being no exception.
Although usually quiet and well mannered, I also tend to be a control freak sometimes (Jinnai agreement).  I.E. If things aren't going my way in something I'm involved with, then they should be.  (Had a rather recent run-in of such at college with the lead controller lady of the tech computer department machines ... didn't believe my obvious security hole in the system I was pointing out)

Hobbies and interests: I go off and on most things except El-Hazard.  Sometimes I'm a programmer, other times I'm a network engineer.  Most of the time it's something technical.

Favourite Movie: Back to the Future still holds me too.

Animé that you've seen: The first one I saw long ago was Sailor Moon with my sister in the morning... the crappy TV censorized version, mind you.  Next was Pokemon so very long ago... then finally I started seeing more serious stuff, I believe that started with "The Irresponsible Captain Tylor."  Apparently my sister had downloaded an episode somewhere and that took her to buy the whole series.  (Very good anime, though.)  The very fact that the characters were allowed to curse and that there were sexual implications finally showed me non-TV anime could be a whole lot better then just some kiddie show.  Then I saw various things that she brought home, such as bits of Gundam Wing and dead series like Elf Princess Rane.  (Somewhere at college she had been converted into an anime nut and it rubbed off a little bit during her summer break.)  And blah blah came El-Hazard ;) (too much a novel here)

Religion: Born into a Christian family anyway

I now present the fun factoid images:

Neil: "It's LORD God Jinnai!  That's how Kalia could call him LGJ.  It's War God if you're a Wanderers guy or something..." (I'm not sure where the end part came from myself ;))

Can't YOU smell the friendship?

Misc: Apparently I'm Fatora's secret lover.

Ohayou,

well, since I stumbled over this page yesterday (and had nothing better to do than registering myself...) it's time for my introduction. Here we go:

Name: Annett Campbel

Age: 26... erm, call me "grandma" and you're dead

Sex: female

Location: Germany

Personality: Evil... I tend to beat up people with my morning star. (It's 15 cm... so FEAR ME! *_* ) I'm kinda moody, so you better don't cross my path if I'm in a bad mood. Humor? Well, sometimes... My friends say I'm insane, guess they're right. Erm, don't believe too much of the stuff I say... I like "freestyle online rpging" in chats and stuff.

Hobbies and interests: Anime & manga, Asian movies, music (Canto-pop, oldies, anime music...), reading, internet (well, I spend too much time here), travelling...

Favorite non-anime movie(s): Asian movies, like I said... Chinese Ghost Story, Jackie Chan stuff, Stephen Chow comedies... Avalon, Matrix, Blade Runner... Cyberpunk stuff... ah well, too much to name.

Anime you've seen: Well, you don't really want me to count all, do you? Ghibli movies, Sailor Moon, Utena, Weiß Kreuz, Lain, Boogiepop Phantom, (some) El Hazard, New Cutey Honey, Doremi, Maja, Aishite Night, Queen Millennia, Ohayou Spank, Hikari no densetsu, Captain Tylor, Ranma, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Metropolis, Perfect Blue, Jin Roh, Please save my earth, Marco, Gunsmith Cats, Bubblegum Crisis, NGE, Street Fighter II V, Armitage III, Slayers, Tenchi Muyo, Akira, Digi Charat, Vampire Princess Miyu, Video Girl Ai, Big-O, Phantom Quest Corp., Dragon Half... erm, I don't like showing off like this... let's say I've seen some, you get the point.

Religion: Serenit - we believe in moon-goddess Serenity (kinda selfmade religion and I'm high priestess and beat up bless my friends with my morning star...) Erm, remember my sentence about not believing too much... It's 5:30 am and I need some sleep.

How did you find El-Hazard online?: I was looking for some information about El Hazard mangas and film (anime) comics for my homepage when I stumbled over this page yesterday...

Misc: Hm, I need some sleep right now, but I'm not tired... Oh yeah, posting in forums might bore me after a while... I just never find interesting threads. I hate meaningless chat threads and spam postings. Hope I don't scare anyone... erm, no... FEAR ME! *_*

At least I can gladly note you've seen the English dub of El-Hazard.  Very pleasing indeed.  (Way funnier then the Japanese counterpart.  Apparently the female in charge of the dub team was a genius who said "Let's make it funnier.")

Well I guess that'll require some people to start getting interesting, wouldn't it?  Neil!  Uh... dance!

Oh, may I ask, did you happen to attempt registration under an email name of "annkay" or some such?  I have a defunct registration in here from a German email service by that name.  Can't seem to send email out that-a-way.

Pretty little Ifurita there too.  I see Germany's tripod hasn't stopped off-site image linking. ;p

Ha-ha... no, I've not seen it but inserting the German quote would have been kinda... hm pointless. Guess I'll see the dub anyhow since I decided to buy the US DVDs instead of the messed up German ones... (long story)This can be a topic that we'll talk about later... sub or dub, just in case you guys are not tired of that discussion.

Yep, that's me. My email service messed up somehow and I didn't receive anything, so I registered again under this name. You can delete the annkay one. (I even wrote an email that you can do it but I guess it didn't arrive, too.)

Yeah, I wonder when they'll stop that image crosslinking, lol. Then I just switch to another webspace with my little Ifurita. ^_^

O_O dance, dance... give him some booze and let him dance on the table, yeah... erm -_-' nevermind me.

Annett: I've heard of a GERMAN dubbed version of the OAV series (and possibly TV series); do these exist and do you own copies?

And I'm not dancing on the table for anyone.

... Maybe for money. ;)

It took all of my 2 years of high school German to translate the email error ;)

Konnichiwa

This site just keeps on evolving and evolving... Great!
Now for the introduction:

Name : Gergely Kiss (But in Hungary we actually use
last name first... Just like in Japan!)

Age: 21,9

Sex : Male

Location : Hungary (If you like anime, DON'T come here)

Personality : Varies... Sometimes calm, sometimes evil, but always interstred when it comes to anything involving anime.

Hobbies : Watching anime, reading manga, listening to J-Pop, downloading anime stuff (You get the picture...). I also play computer games a lot (favouring japanese rpgs and fighters, but I am practically omnivore), and collect mugen characters.

Favourite non-anime movie : Don't really have one.

Anime you've seen : Favourites include (in random order): El-Hazard, Evangelion, Escaflowne, Mononoke Hime, Ghost in the Shell, Rurouni Kenshin, Silent Möbius, Armitage III, BGC, Lodoss (VoX rules ^_^), Slayers, Bastard!, Recca no Honoo, Love Hina, Ranma 1/2, Gundam Wing, Utena, Miyu, Vandread, and a lot more.

Religion : None (Though I believe that there is something superior to humans. Nature or God, it's not for me to decide).

How did you find El-Hazard online? :  I was only looking for El-Hazard music (The ONLY way to get anything anime-related in Hungary is the net... Only Sailormoon, Dragonball and Pokemon were aired on TV (and some titles so old, you can't even find on Anime Web Turnpike), and Dragonball Z was taken off after the Freezer-saga for being too bloody...)) and I got stuck here... I always liked sites with character, and this certainly is one.

Misc : Schlock, aren't you a relative of Phyria?

Well, this is going back quite a bit.  However, if I do recall, you said something along the lines of El-Hazard being this great series and that I was almost crazy for even phrasing it as a question ;)

Either way, your name among the few other reponders was burned into my brain.  You seemed like the type I'd like to know about.  (As opposed to the one other fella who happened to sound kind of out there)  I was anxiously awaiting a time when I could email you with something really totally great going on at the site but never thought of anything worth your, or any of the other people I bothered, attention.

CURIOSITY STRIKES:  I go to your little tripod page.

My my, your personality is so off the wall I think I really could get along with you ;)

PC0 reporting for duty. A few of you already know me, (Rob AKA JinnaiGuy, Neil, Hedges, Fuji). Sorry it took me so long to pop up around here Rob, I've been busy working SFGHQ.

Oh, and Ricia, GREAT site.

Name
Aristotle Athanasios Siozopolous
( Yes, it is my real name and yes, I am greek)

Age
18 - Born June 5th, 1984

Sex
Yes please. =P I'm a male for those intrested.

Location
Everett, Washington, USA

Personality
I'm often given positions of responsibility, such as admining Sonic Fan Gaming HQ, opping in mIRC channels, and the like. This may be because I can be responsible when need be, or because people are afraid I'll harm them if they don't submit to me. I happen to be considered a little insane, but meh, just cause I was to tear out someones spleen and cook it up for dinner dosen't mean I'm abnormal... right?.... Why are you backing away from me like that?

Hobbies and Interests
Sonic Fan Gaming for one, which is where people make fan games of Sonic The Hedgehog. I also enjoy, comic books, I know more about marvel comics than anyone should. I also am a avid fan of... well, pretty much anything related to computers, such as video games and the like. And ofcourse, obviously, I like to whatch anime!

Anime I've Seen
Mobile Suit Gundam ( Various series, including ones not released in the U.S.A. yet.), Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangelion, .hack//sign, Vampire Hunter D, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, Ninja Scroll, Sonic The Hedgehog OVA, El-Hazard MW, MW2, AW and Wanderers, Gunsmith Cats, Escaflowne, Slayers, Tenchi (all series), Akira, Final Fantasy, Rockman.exe,  Battle Arena Toshindon, Street Fighter, Ranma 1/2 ( just a ep or two :/)

Religion
Well, some may consider me a Atheist, some may not. I believe that while there might be a higher power, first of all, most of what the bible says about it is full of crap.
I believe that people should decide for themselves what to believe and what not to believe, and that people should be able to choose to not believe in a certain chapter or verse, despite their organized religion.
I also believe that if there is a god, he's not all holy and nice, but rather, possibly created us for amusement or some practical purpose. I don't think he did it because it was a nice thing to do.
More  than anything else, I am religiously against oppression of any kind. Racisim and Religious descrimnation is in my opinion, a crime against the very existance of life. If I ever, EVER see anyone doing such a thing, I simply won't stand for it. This is the only case where I'm willing to force my own personal opinion and belief on someone. Should someone try to descriminate against another in such a way, I will physically beat the crap out of them. No, I'm not exaggerating, I'm actually done it 4 times IRL.

How did I find El-Hazard Online?
I know Rob from way back, I was part of the Sonic Epoch production team. So naturally, I was one of the first to know of El-Hazard Online. To this day, me and Rob are great friends. He introduced me to EH, I liked it, and etc.

Misc.
Well, as you may  know, I'm an admin for Sonic Fan Gaming HQ
::PLUG:: http://sfghq.emulationzone.org/ ::ENDPLUG::

I'm also good at helping relationship troubles, so if you need any help in that area, contact me.

Who or what is Phyria?

The gold dragon priestess of Slayers Try. Your description pretty much fits hers, only she carries a mace instead of a morning star... It's just that I've seen her name written in so many different ways, I can't decide which to use (I probably should have written Filia).

Quote
So, there are absolutely no anime tapes (and stuff) available in Hungary?

4 dragonball tapes are available, containing some episodes of the Cell saga, and I believe some of the Pokemon episodes were also released. I also found an Akira DVD (The one that was released last year was released here last month... but at least it's available (for now)), and one of the stores selling computer games used to sell a few anime tapes about 5 or 6 years ago.
Other anime stuff that can be bought here are lame Pokemon/SailorMoon/ Dragonball merchandise (like some miscoloured chinese backpacks and 2 inch figures), some Pokemon/Dragonball trading cards (not any more), and it is possible to import soundtracks... for about 3 times the original price. And of course TV channels that actually air some anime (like RTL2 and VoX) are only available only on cable (both of them have been available on satellite, but were replaced with other channels).

I - Introvert (aka I'm into looking at the near to far future rather than what's happening now.)

N - Intuitive (aka I use my mind to solve things.)

F - Feeling (aka I use my feelings to make decisions.)

P - Perceptive (aka I don't make judgements until I have many views in my head.)

I also tend to be very quiet around people.  Some consider me a mystery.

Hobbies and interests: Video Games all the way.  I love them.  Series games (Mario, Sonic, Metroid etc.) are my favorite.  I used to watch TV a lot, but I don't now.

Favorate non-anime Movie(s): Back to the Future series, The Big Bus and most other comedies.

Anime you've seen: Some of Sailor Moon, but I'm not a big fan, some of Trigun (I really like this), some of Dragon Ball Z (but mostly for the fight sequences), some of Burn Up W and very little of Excess (little because my little brother owns this, and I'm very apathetic about the series), and all of El-Hazard (one of the ONLY anime series thus far I actually watched all the way through).

Religion: I'm a Christian, plain and true.

How did you find El-Hazard online?: How did I find it?  I was with Rob as he was constructing the whole thing!

Misc: If you want to see a REALLY bad movie?  "Plan 9 From Outer Space".  From people playing around with their guns to the Language Computer (which translates all languages to ours), you need to see it just to see how bad it really is.

(Yes, finally, another one who actually has a heart!  Cha-ching!) ... heh, excuse me, you'd be surprised how cold and impersonal some of my registrants are o_O

Probably not the worst, but an example from my records of one person:

... plans to rudely leech our MP3's and leave. [<-- I personally can't even believe that some answer so honestly :P]

... has never been to EHOL before.

Tell me you at least get summers off or something.  There's a whole lot I can use a translator for ;p

Also, don't phrase it as "stuck as" ... after all, I assumed you had completely given up and run off for safe haven at SFGHQ by now ;p ... notice I didn't pester you further about it, either.  Although in-site loyality would be a really sweet deal...

How did you find El-Hazard online?:

I was surfing at Jason Bertovich's excellent El Hazard site (http://www.geocities.com/MakotosMWO/) and followed the link here.  I'm glad to see there are still El Hazard fans around!  If you care to meet some others, please visit EH Yahoo! group at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/el-hazard/

Misc:

Married to a lovely woman who has come to enjoy anime with me.  Live with two 90 lb. dogs out in the flatlands of Indiana (just where a a boy from a small farming town in Michigan likes it.)  While I have been an anime fan for many years (as you can see from my age!) I have been a train buff longer.  After completing my electrical engineering coursework at a school in Michigan back in 1993, I worked doing wiring and programming for welding robots in auto plants.  I rode the high-tech wave in Minneapolis as a test systems designer for medical devices and avionics systems for last seven years until it all came crashing down this year.  After having worked part-time as a semi driver, backhoe operator, freight train conductor, and locomotive mechanic, I decided to work for the railroad full time.  I now work for CSX Transportation on a signal construction gang covering territory between Chicago and Louisville, Kentucky.  We're the guys out putting up those gates and flashers up along the highway in the middle of winter.  Needless to say I've become familiar with Carhartts after doing office work for so long.  Brrr!

I have almost completed a monster El Hazard fanfic with the help of my good friend and fellow fictwriter Ken Wolfe.  It's my first El Hazard work, but he has been quite proliferate over the years.  I highly suggest you give his work a once-over, especially if you believe (like me) the growing relationship betweem Makoto and Ifurita being central to the appeal of the series.
You can read Ken's previous EH work here...

http://www.mts.net/~kenwolfe/fanfic.html

Nice to meet you all and hope you enjoy the work.

Pretty intensive there.  Yes, I do believe you've made the official "oldest" list... but I find it all interesting.

Yahoo Groups aren't exactly my favorite method of communication (okay, I abstain from them entirely ;p), they're concidered rather passé to a lot of us.  *shrug*

I can appreciate that indeed.   I did think the 72 members here might enjoy meeting some of the 169 members over on the Yahoo! Group.  Several of them are very talented EH fictwriters, including several who have already posted work to fanfiction.net.

Wolfe's work is one of my favorites, but I'm also a fan of a series called "The Shape of Things To Come."  It just wrapped up today, in fact.  Check out ff.net for details.

Hello! I just joined this group, by the recommendation of Mark Engels. ^_^ Since there seems to be a sort of introduce-yourself thread going on, that seems like a fine way to... erm... introduce myself!

Name: Aaron Ziegler

Age: 27

Sex: Male

Location: Maple Grove, Minnesota

Personality: INTJ - I tend to be rather shy and reclusive in real life, but I think you'll find I'm a bit more outgoing online. ^_^;; At times I sometimes also am a bit lacking in tact. I apologize in advance for that.

Hobbies and Interests: Video Games, Anime, and Sci-Fi/Fantasy. I like to read and to write, and have written several works of fan-fiction.

Favorite Non-Anime movies: Tron, Labyrinth, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and others.

Anime you've seen: Erg. Tons more than I'm willing to take the time to write right now... Almost all of the titles typically considered popular among anime fandom, I've seen (well, all the titles that have been released commercially in the US - I never really got into fansubs, and can count the number I've seen on the fingers of one hand). Add to that a few minor or lesser-known pieces, like Birdy the Mighty and Those Who Hunt Elves and many others.

Religion: None of the above. And that includes Atheism. I just don't have the faith it takes to be an Athiest. :P

Misc: I became an anime fan not long after being introduced to the Internet, an event that occured early in my college life. Since then, I have participated in many aspects of anime fandom, including a sporadic but still ongoing career as a writer of fanficiton. (My writings can be found at http://www.visi.com/~spanner/fanfics/fanfics.htm ).

Fairly early on, I selected El-Hazard to be my Official Favorite Anime, not so much because I consider it to be the best anime I've ever seen (though it IS darned good), but because I decided I needed an anime to call my official favorite. Since then, I've invested a lot of time and attention into the show, and have even produced a (as yet unfinished) website dedicated to it. (This website can be found at http://www.visi.com/~spanner/ElHazard/EHMain.htm ).

My favorite El-Hazard series is the original OAV. Oddly, though, my favorite El-Hazard character is the Wanderers version of Ifurita, whom I adore to death. She's just so cute and funny! ^_^

Anyway, I'm happy to be here!

Name:  Rowan Andromeda Seven

Age:  17, born 2/23/85

Sex:  Male

Location:  Maine, USA

Personality:  Quiet, polite, somewhat of an introvert, a dry sense of humor, imaginative, and generous.

Hobbies and interests:  Reading, particularly fantasy and sci-fi,  writing, fluting, walking, nature, history, classical and alternative music, and RPGs.

Favorite non-anime movie:  Probably "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" but I generally don't choose favorites.

Anime I've seen:  Windaria, Sailor Moon, Dragonbal Z, Big O, Tenchi (all series except the newest), Dragonball, El Hazard (all series), Gundam Wing, Mobile Suit Gundam (some), 8th MS Team, Slayers Try, Neon Genesis Evangelion (some), and a few other movies here and there.

Religion:  Christian

How did I find El Hazard Online?:  I found a link to it somewhere, either on another El Hazard site or a search engine.

Oh, well, if we're all introducing ourselves here, I might as well just get involved...

Name: Rachel Ketner (call me Filia (what my anime friends call me) or Rachie (what my family calls me), just don't call me anything mean  :'( )

Age: 17 (and still no drivers liscense. I'm ashamed!)

Sex: Female

Location: I just moved to WV, wich is bad: because I'm still adjusting to cultural shock, and which is good: because I'm closer to DC, where they have *2* anime conventions!!!  ;D

Hobbies and Intrests: Well, I'll be blunt and vapid and say that the opposite sex takes up a good 95% of my free time... and since I'm bisexual I don't have ANY freetime!  :P Other than that, I'm currently working on an RPG Maker version of El-Hazard, one of my own. So far, nothing's happening, and all I've gotten done is to make a chibi Jinnai from a chibi Kefka.  ;D KAWAII!!!!! And, uh, a Makoto too, but I hate him...

Fav MOvie: Grave Of The Fireflies. It made me cry more than any other movies, including Schindlers List! and it's anime!

Anime I've seen, Slayers, Everything ever made By Hayao Miazaki, Rayearth, El-hazard(except for that second OAV, I have it, and it's in storage  :'( ) Magic Users Club, LA Blue Girl, Salior Moon, DragonBall (doesn't count) Pokemon (we all had to start somewhere...) Yu Yu Hakushou, Haunted Junction, and... Oh well, I've seen a bunch, and collected a lot of manga too.

Religion: Well, I'm kind of undecided...

How I found El-Hazard online: By accident. I was looking for a different El-Hazard site, and it wasn't there, and this cute little page came up with a million little pics of Jinnai on it and it laughed at me. So I went here and fell in love with it!

Misc: If Jinnai were running for MY student council, I'D vote for em!  ;D He's the reason I watch El-Hazard! I'm also hoping to meet someone who is willing to help me out on my RPG, if you're interested, e-mail me!!! Please!!! *needs help*

I'm just curious, is that my 404 error page?

Well, internet-base projects are always a difficulty, and you're free to show off or discuss anything you do here.  I've had experience in the area with a big project I did in a past life for something else... don't ever come to depend on an internet-based person except in spot usage, because life itself usually gets in the way otherwise.  :p  Well, unless said person has proved themselves to be dependable somehow.
Anyone who's been paying attention knows that I too have something in the oven... it'll be a little while yet before I have something I'd feel is worth showing off.  ;) (And I don't wanna until I can verify it'll be stable, too.)

Full Name AFAIK: James Richard (Something something) O'Neill. Rather bland IMHO. Just call me "Wadman" Kiddo Cabbusses (Or just Kiddo) for short.

ASL: OMG. NOT MY ASL. NNNNOOO-::shot::

Er-hem... 16 years old, male (A bit TOO male... and yet a bit too female at the same time. Perhaps I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body.), and currently living somewhere in a PA suburb that you don't know about. (what? You expected me to give out my full address? HAR.)

Personality: On the net, I'm usually silly, not-quite-serious and exxageratingly perverted, almost ready to hit on any girl somewhat close to my age (But one girl at a time, and currently I'm after someone now so you'll have to wait... not like anyone was wanting any anyway, but just in case. ;-;;; ) In IRL I'm too antisocial to have an actual personality other than the alleged "Lazy, geeky, yadda yadda yadda.". :/

Favorite... things:... if I were forced to pick a favorite anything, I'd explode in a ball of self-arguement. I can name some things that I downright hate, but... not right now. I'm tired. ::Yawn::

And, yay. For once a SHORT profile.... not like anyone's proud of it, but still... :P

But actually, after that, me and Neil discussed how Fatora and Jinnai are some of the most entertaining characters due simply to their absolute worst traits that SHOULD be taken negatively.  :p

Hey Bob care sharing your thoughts with me? cos, I could use a reason to hate Fatora less... After all, once I found out what she was like, I was the one who said they should have left her with the Shadow tribe...   :P Ungrateful bitch... Poor Ura... I can't say cats are my favorite animals, but Ura was a cool cat... and I really resent how Fatora treated her... -- not to mention all that Alternative World unpleasantness that she caused...

I will admit that without her chronic stupidity, the series probably would be less eventful...  See? I complimented her...  ;)

YES! My point exactly! Jinnai would be boring as hell if he just followed Makoto around with a clipboard like Rainman!  ;) And the same reasoning for Fatora. She adds comic relif to the Alternative World, (Where otherwise there would be nothing but super-vapid-Qawooliness). My only complaint is that El-Hazard portrays lesbians like a bunch of sex-hungry letchers...

Admittedly, Alielle is my 'true' favourite character, but I became a Fatora fanboy mainly out of sympathy- she used to get a right kicking by most fans, although it's not as common now. I wasn't massively keen on Fatora in OAV1- although keep in mind that she was basically a one joke character... Plus, given that Ura can absorb a blast from a Demon God with only minor discomfort, I think it's unlikely that Fatora could do any harm to the cat by dropping it from the dizzying height of four feet. ^_^

It's true, she practically made OAV2 and Alternative World. And I'd advise taking Alt World Ep 13 with a pinch of salt... the entire cast were out of character in that episode, not least Alielle and Fatora (I think I'll save my Episode 13 rant until a more appropriate time, though).

And Jewel, I take your point on the issue of portrayal of lesbians. They do have the odd sweet little moment together, but not as often as I would have liked for proper development of the charcters. Still, life isn't all about positive role models ^_~ Interestingly, there really weren't that many lesbian anime characters around back in 1995, when OAV1 was first released (well, leaving hentai aside...). It was around this time that Sailor Moon was causing a bit of a stir with Haruka and Michiru... lesbian relationships really didn't happen in anime. And Alielle and Fatora are WAY more blatant about their sexuality than Haruka and Michiru. Which might make them pioneers of some sort. Or maybe not. Ugh, it's too early in the morning...

(Incidentally, the first fanfic I ever wrote explained how Fatora started out as your standard anime princess, the acquired her 'unique temperament' ^_^)

Ah, Haruka and Michiru! *GLEAM* Perhaps the best damn example of GOOD CLEAN shoujo-ai in anime! I was a big fan back when I first learned that they really weren't "cousins" GRR!! DIC makes me so mad!!! Anyways, they are a beautiful couple, if only they both had a SINGLE character flaw *other than having none at all* :)
But enough of that. This is El-Hazard online, not Sailor Moon online.  :P

You also have a good point on Ura. I personally can't tell much about that, I *shamefully* saw every tape but the last one.  :'( I know how it ends but I wanna SEE it!

I also like the Allielle-Nanami couple in Wanderers!  ;D Enough said!

*BTW: it's okay dooky, don't let them call you feminene! You sound very much like a man to me!

Just episode 13?  Most of the Alternative World's run bothered me with characterizations, what with Makoto being so bland (He reminded me of Tenchi!), and Jinnai acting like a cliched caricature of his Wanderers counterpart in many scenes.  If Gilda and Dall (once he entered his apathetic alcoholic phase) hadn't been so interesting, I would've been sorely tempted to rank the series on the same level as Tenchi in Tokyo.  As is, I've just rationalized the entire thing by asserting that Makoto had spent far too much time alone in his lab and that the food Jinnai ate was drugged.

As for Fatora, my feelings are kind of mixed.  I'm not fond of her as a person, but I do like her as a character.  There's a certain captivating aspect to her as we, the audience, watch and worry about what she's going to do next.  I just wish she had more scenes with Makoto.  Oh, the crazy adventures those two could have...

Try a seperate topic, I guess.  Not sure what's meant by "appropriate time".

Yes, Alternative World was really a disapointment the more I look at it.  It goes up and down, but it is subpar.  But in honesty, I like the minor developments that did go through, like extensions on how Miz and Fujisawa can get along (it gave them a relationship dimension, where prior I was wondering if Fujisawa was simply living something that was a bullet train to divorce later).  Shayla and Jinnai are excellent rebounders, though.  Episode 4 is probably one of the best of the series in total.
I did sort of like Allujah, in the bounds within I imagine him, as far as what he is.
I personally cannot stand the Makoto girl pile-on stuff, so where I plan to go with the vaguely but oft-mentioned secret project dealie that I might actually find time to do at some point *pant* ... I'll definately be against it.  The gag tires quickly, especially trying to make Qawool a further agitator.  Qawool needs development too, I have some [unclear] ideas, some of which were posted somewhere a while back...

As for Episode 13, well, I don't really know if anyone was "out of character" (more then AW tweaks, anyway).  Think about it, the entire world of El-Hazard depicted Fatora and Alielle as lusty lesbians who use any means to get at some particular women they wanted.  And then finally do.  And I have a feeling Afura was enjoying it the most.  ;p

Hi, as you may guess, I'm new here 8)

Name: Inity
Age: 27
Sex: female
Location: St.Petersburg, Russia
Personality: introverted, fun-loving, a bit selfish...
Hobbies and Interests: Science fiction, especially cyberpunk, writing, history...
Favorite Non-anime Movies: Nirvana, Avalon, Matrix, We're no angels, Star Wars
Anime you've seen: many. But I have only three best favorites: GITS, S.E. Lain and guess which one else. 8)
Religion: Orthodox Christian
How did you find El-Hazard online?: I was just checking how a link to Jinnai fan club (long time not updated) was working in my signature for some forum. Then, I decided to look at forum there, even knowing it's supposed to be dead. Then, found a message advertising this site and decided to check it 8)

Misc: My roommate was really addicted to anime in past year and was downloading huge hundreds of megabytes of it, and fan clips, using my internet account (thanks God it is free 8) . I wasn't so addicted to it as he was, but he liked showing me best of his downloads. Once he've shown me his new download. It was a Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot clip... so it was a love from first glance. Jinnai, before all, I mean. :)

Yeah, I know!  I had subscribed for email notification of replies to the topic, in hopes someone might actually have seen it.  So, lo and behold, I get an inbox message that someone had replied... at first it was weird, I'm like "I don't even post on EZBoards anymore..." (Which I don't, no communities I attend have one anymore.)  I posted there MONTHS ago, when this site didn't even look remotely like this... in fact, you can see the difference here. (http://www.el-hazardonline.net/El-Hazard/indexold.shtml)  That was before a major overhaul I did sometime after I made that post... most of the links won't work now, FYI.  And the only reason the news or hit counter is up-to-date there is because the script hasn't changed since the old days.  :P

THAT's awesome, because that's my story, too!  A buddy of mine downloaded and showed me that sucker, and suddenly I'm throwing money at El-Hazard like no tommorow... sure I'm in debt now, but I'm happy. ;p  Note my name as well... or click any of those broken links on the old main page and see my wacky 404 page (http://www.el-hazardonline.net/error/404.html).  Or 403 page (http://www.el-hazardonline.net/error/403.html) ... or 500 page (http://www.el-hazardonline.net/error/500.html)...

Yeah, it'd be nice to have the source to one of the better ones for EHPC... or at least Cinepak decoding so I can run them off the Saturn disc or something, meh.

Same for me, at the moment.  Of course, I bought it mostly for the sake of the same English VA of Jinnai, which made Nanbara alone downright hillarious...

Thanks.  EHPC, at least for what I can do with it, is quickly nearing completion.  The last news update is already incredibly out of date, where I now have 6 of the 8 ending variants completed, and all that remains is some touch-up junk, mostly graphical things that should be there and aren't.
Also, not sure if it matters to anybody, but EHPC WILL be enduser-programmable, if someone would find use with it.  I'll be giving out the compiler that generates my EHPC script binaries and whatnot.

Ever heard of VirtualDub? It's freeware that allows you to capture, recompress and edit video files. What makes it the best is that it is opensource. Though i am not that adverse in using C++ (hey, i may be a programmer, but i've been using only COBOL - please dont laugh - for the past 2 years), i am only beginning to understand the "juice" behind video files by reading the source code! Hope it helps.
check it out at www.virtualdub.org.

Wow, guess youre one of the few people who din't buy em cause of the countless number of panty shots. Wait...There's a dubbed version? Anyway, i guess im more comfortable with subtitled versions. Guess it was trauma after seeing Pokemon.  :)
Title: Re: Ok...so who's actually here?
Post by: Captain Southbird (EHOL Creator) on February 21, 2003, 12:09:36 pm
My trauma was DBZ, where I got my first real lesson in what dubbing/censoring can do.

However, an anime my sister bought, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, reversed the effects by showing that it IS possible to get a good, solid, true-to-the-point English dub.  (Here's a key -- if it's bound for US television, particularly TV7 type stuff, the dub is almost guarenteed to be watered down / censored.  TICT, obviously, was not.)

El-Hazard is also excellantly dubbed; I stand behind it 100%.  Hand Maid May was okay, it kind of borrowed a little too much from the Japanese script.  Perfect Example (http://www.el-hazardonline.net/El-Hazard/temp/rob/nanbara.mp3) (Nabara's initial bitching at the beginning of Episode 3)  This doesn't make any real sense at all.

The only problem with using VDub code is I'd still require M$ Windows MCI as a backbone.  I'd like something portable... that is, the source code to the compressor, not just access to compressors.
But just in case it does have some help, I WILL download it... as soon as I download and install Service Pack 5 and the Processor Pack for my VC6, which is required by VDub's specs.  ;p

*decides to butt in here*

Perfect Blue is the ultimate dub in my opinion. Mi-mania was good in Japenese, but I've never actually heard  a dub job that was actually better than the Japenese version. (lol, little flashback to when my sis and I first saw that, we were watching the rape scene when Mi-mania first speaks, and we both piped up simultaniously, "That's Jinnai!!!" *Bob Marx also dubs Mi-Mania,  :P *

LOL, but I'll spare you all from the Bob Marx rant, only to say that he's my favorite dubber of all time, and if I HAVE to marry a boy, I'll name our first born son "Bob".  ;D That is if I don't marry Bob himself  ;) Ha ha ha.

Damn, everything i get's in Japanese!
Perhaps it cause im in asia. AXN once broadcasted their anime (way back 1999, i was still a student then) in english. when 2000 hit, i don't know if the millenium bug got to their heads, they started showing it subtitled! I saw a few eps of Alternative World in english, but i hazily remember how they sounded like.
we have a local tv station that dubs it in filipino, and guess what? IT F*N STINKS! So i am doomed to stick with the subtitled version till i fully learn Jap.

Hey, Jinnai, that's a great idea! Creating your own video format so you wouldn't need to worry about lawsuits about copyright (that's the reason why VDub depends on codecs).

Out of curiosity, Jewel, you wouldn't happen to have ever seen a picture of the guy by chance?  Many of us have always wondered what the great Marx looks like. :p

I also want to hear how he sounds as a good guy, instead of the regular typecast nuts he's often assigned to.  I think he's supposed to be a good guy somewhere...
Title: Re: Ok...so who's actually here?
Post by: jewel_of_roshtaria on February 22, 2003, 10:25:38 pm
Well, if it's pics you want Rob, sorry, I have no clue what the guy looks like (and believe me, I've looked all over the web)

But on the Perfect Blue DVD, in the Extras section, they give a neat little commentary from Bob, talking about his character. He really does sound like Jinnai! Not only that, but he has an impressive vocabulary, and sounds like quite the intellectual.

I'm hoping he will make an appearance at onbe of the US Anime Cons. The most recent Con in my area happens sometime November, and I don't know if Bob will be there. I've heard that he makes numerous appearances at these things, so I will keep you all posted as far as that, if you want.

(LOL, at my last con, I got hit on by the guy who dubbed Duo from Gundam Wing.   :P Not really interesting, just wanted to mention that. I'm so conseited. < and my spelling sucks.

Any chance you could get me a recording of that?  Assuming you have a PC-installed DVD drive, some sound cards have the capability of recording their audio output, so that's what I'm getting at.  Not incredibly important, but I am curious now. :p

I'd love to, the only problem is, I don't actually own the DVD. I borrowed it from a friend when I was still living in Denver, and well, now that I've moved, you know, little inconvinent.  :P Sorry.

I'm suprised! But hey, that's cool! Cons are like Christmas for me and my friends. Last year, at the con in Denver they were giving away really valueable El-Hazard cels as prizes for the costume contest.

If you want my advice, check out:

Nov 7-9:
http://www.nekocon.org/

Nov 21-23:
http://www.animeusa.org/ausa2003/

These two cons appear to be in your area (or somewhat close, anyways) and are the two most recent ones available.  ??? *brain is fried*

I'd also like to metion, casually, on that topic, that I'd like to get together an El-Hazard cosplay group for one of these cons, so if anyone is interested, please get in touch with me. ^-^

That is all.

Still a fairly good Wanderers group (don't know 'em, Neil dug it up from some site at some point.)  I think the Miz looks disturbingly accurate.

He also did Protoman in that gawd awful American Megaman series ^_^ He was THE BEST PART of that show...

Heh maybe they can get him to do Blues EXE in Rockman EXE (coming to the US in the summer) O_O That would be so great! *wonders who will be playing various charaters and hopes they don't suck O_o*

Wow, I was soo burned from my job last summer (which was mainly outdoors) O_O My face is RED O_O

I've since made a few slight changes to the outfit... (didn't quite have the time to finish a few things ...) Meh...

What no Makoto in that Wanderers group?! For SHAME!

Actually, I'm really glad you reminded me, I had totally forgotten his name!  :'( He's a very friendly guy, and he loves ladies. Actually, I was one out of two in my Glomp Club that he hit on. He seems to really like pretty ladies with big boobs, so I'm sure he'd be happy to hit on you too!  ;D

As a side note, I must also express how cool that costume is.  ;D Last con, I spent one day making my costume in a rush (I was Filia from Slayers, about the only chara I could pull off from that series) And the costume looked terrible. One of my friends was even mean enough to say "It actually looks quite good, for something made in one day..." That's what being a procrastinator does to you. But Scott commented that he really liked it, so I got to rub that in mean ol' Maya's face!  ;D Erm, getting back to the point, I really love that costume. It's cool when you can make a costume that not only looks like it's supposed to, but flatters you like that.  ;D

I think for the next con I would either like to go as wanderers Ifurita, or Fatora (all I have to do is dye my hair brown and wear something trashy, how diffucult is that?) Besides, out of all the charas on EH, I definatley look the most like Fatora (besides, I could have fun with that role...  ;) )

LOL! Thanks for the compliment...but umm don't let the outfit fool you... my boobs aren't that big O_O That outfit was just tight as hell! (I had to actually let it out about half an inch cos at first it was so tight it was uncomfortable... that half an inch made a world of difference!)

I doubt he'd hit on me given my track record with men... However, I'll admit...when I wore this outfit to the first anime club meeting last term, about 3 guys asked me to stop and let them see my outfit in my dorm lobby O_O It was quite scary actually... as they were all drooling and whistling and carrying on... Then I went outside and some freak beeped at me too! Well I let him have it! I yelled, "Yeah you like that idiot! I got it you don't!" Men can be such pigs... if I had been in my regular clothes...NONE of them would have given me the time of day...

Once, while I was walking down the street, I got shaving cremed! I hate to admit it, but I think he thought I was a hooker or something... Actually, I was running away from home, but that just made my day all that much brighter!  >:(

An even greated example would be the seemingly innocent "Let's go up to your room on the 2nd day of dating so we can "listen to music" " I can't believe I was ever nieve enough to fall for that. Major Qawool moment here.

I know what that means too, I look like a hooker, so guys assume I AM. Oh, why can't we reproduce through mitosis??

*pauses and realizes she's ranting about men again*

Dammit. Please excuse me, it's one o' clock down here and I'm too tired to read. Night people.

I have no idea.  But quite frankly, women cause ME frustration, because I can only account for about 3 who I ever even can talk to not counting relatives -- site member Master Fedora via AIM, a 35 year old married woman, and this girl who would be a wonderful potential dateable who lives nearby and all that, if only she didn't have a boyfriend.  And I only have ever really talked to her vaguely about the local neighborhood and school, and that was once.

So it's not like ALL men are pigs.  Some of us are just as annoyed and disadvantaged as you too.  I haven't gotten a chance to be a pig.  ;p

Now, enough of that, you're falling off-topic.

But, if you all are looking for dates, Cons are great places to start!  ;) *finally back on track* Ah, I remember my first con... No, actually, I don't, but that's beside the point! *It was Anime Overload Poisioning* Actually, it was funny, beacuse everyone in my group was paring themselves up, so that when I finally decided to go back to the room to get some sleep, it was so crowded in there that you couldn't move! We even filed up the bathroom! So some ramdom guy offered to share rooms, so I got a couch and he got the floor.  ;)

*Basic point for those of you who I know won't bother to read all that, Cons Are Fun*

Topic was once long ago "Who's actually here", and of late it has been "What anime do you own."

You just need to work out self-esteem issues!

Actually, it's not self-esteem so much anymore, self-esteem was a problem upwards of 2 years ago and before.  My biggest problem is being in a technology track, which makes most of my classes female-devoid.  And then I sit out on this lounge area, and hear couples fighting about stupid things, or once listened unwantingly to a girl in tears over some guy openly calling her annoying... anyway, it's just frustrating because frankly I know I'm better then most of the guys these girls are complaining about, but I don't get a chance. ;p

Meh, I'd work with a girl if I was put into the position... maybe.  But actually I wonder if that's even what I want, I mean, my lifestyle is without car (right now, that might change this summer, depending), and my hobby's are pretty much solo deeds except for those that require the other end to be "in" to even get enjoyment out of it.

Therefore, I need a geek girl, as that's probably the best kind for a geek guy.  I'm probably only going to find one of those in a tech class that I happen to be in, or a job sometime later in life.  I only bitch out of frustration on the issue, and because males are about as chemically driven as cars run on gas.

Hajime mashite! I'm very glad to be here. El Hazard is my favorite anime of all time, so I naturally jumped on the chance to register at this forum! Hope my avatar doesn't exceed any size limitations or anything. ^^;

Neil Lafrenais, that is a great avatar you have. I had that avatar at one point, on several forums. It totally freaked people out! ;D

Name: Gary, but you can call me Saucer

Age: 27

Sex: Mail...... I mean male

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (recognize!)

Personality: Heh, fairly extroverted I'd say.

Hobbies and interests: anime, manga, video games, reading, coffee, booze, food, art, history, science, computers, boxing, martial arts

Favorate non-anime Movie(s): Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Matrix

Anime you've seen: There's no way I could list them all. I've been watching anime seriously for about 10 years now! I will list some of my favorite though: El Hazard, Kimagure Orange Road, Gunbuster, Giant Robo, Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura, Slayers, Love Hina, Vandread, Hellsing, Betterman and so many more......

Religion: None. But if I had to pick one I felt closest to, it would be Shinto. However, Buddhism is also very close to my personal philosophy

How did you find El-Hazard online?: Google search for more info, screen shots, etc... on the El Hazard Saturn Game!

Misc:I also run a web discussion forum that covers anime and various other diverse subject matter. It's called Crossroads (http://saucer.proboards15.com) and you're welcome to join! It's kinda empty right now, as I just had to change servers this week. And, I couldn't move the threads, due to incompatibility problems with the code. So, wanna help me fill it up? ^_^;

I've been on that end of it! I've heard it all. Most of it came from grade school, so it gave me a bit of a shyness complex. *I'm fine on the internet, but in person I tend to be a bit quiet.* But seroiusly, girls cry over everything. I cry whenever someone mentions "Fluff". ... Damn, there I go again...  :'( Grave of the Fireflies does that to me too. I can safely say that you're not human if you didn't cry during Grave.

You'd be suprised. I took a course in CISCO *kind of an advanced computer course for those of you who don't know, it's more involved with programming and really complicated stuff like that.* Anyways, I go in there on my first day, and the entire class is male. There wasn't a single girl in there. And the guys were like, "Aaaah! A girl! RUN AWAY!"

*And for all of you jerks who think I'm too young or ditzy to take a college level computer course, I'm actually quite advanced, so bug off  ;) *

Well, it makes sense, they're both so smart, but enough of that. I see no reason why Xellos and Filia work. Last year at the con, my sis and I dresses as Xel and Filia, and so I will forever be known to the Nan-Desu-Con-Glomp-Club as "Filia".

I'd gladly do it... if I owned a Mac that had a processor better then the ol' 68030.

Nothing against Macs except that other than porting for other people I have absolutely no use for them... I need a cheap one somewhere or somebody to give me their now uneeded Mac... as long as it's something relatively modern instead of Geyer Printing's throw-outs.

Well, if you didn't need a CD/DVD-burner or anything......http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?family=iMac
And despite what Apple tells you, you can drop 1GB of RAM in these old G3 DV models.

Anyway, went through eBay, came across a 300MHz G3 machine for about $200... I won't be purchasing anytime soon, but I'm giving you my general level of expectance.  I'm thinking 233MHz or more is a safe number for porting, but I also don't know the programming stuff available for Macs, so unless I'm getting one free or really cheap, there's a bit of research I'm going to have to do first.

Yeah, 233MHz would be sufficient. Although I would personally go with a 350MHz or later DV model (the ones with the slot-loading "jukebox" style CD/DVD-rom drive in front, rather than a tray-loading) if you can find one  really cheap. Simply because, you only have to open up a door in the back to add more RAM. With the earlier G3s, you have to take the whole thing apart and handle the motherboard just to add RAM. And those early models will only take up to 192MB RAM total. The later ones can handle up to 1 GB RAM.

And as far as programming goes, I'd love to help you if I could. But to be honest with you, I couldn't really program my way out of a paper bag. ^_^; Let me know if you have any other Mac related questions I can help with. BTW, if you need cheap RAM, try http://www.ramseeker.com

I don't have the same colour of eyes as Arwen as far as i know. Mine are kind of greyish-green or greyish-blue. Depending on how i feel, my eyes change colour very slightly. My hairs the same colour and I'm probably about the same height (5'8'') roughly anyway.

At least be reasonable about the usage of punctuation.  Be careful about flooding topics, and remember what topics are about, mmkay?

LOL, yeah, I'm a lesbian, with the exception of Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom and other male heroes like that. Oridnary men just don't make the cut.  ;)

What the hey, while we're at it, I'll re-introduce myself too.

Name: Rachel (call me Jewel or Rosh please, actually, no, call me Jewel, only Lar gets to call me Rosh  ;) )
Age: 17 (and still no drivers liscense, for shame)
Sex: If that's not completly apparent by now, go away.  ;)
Location: This stuff's on my Bio, y'know.
Personality: I guess I'm a, erm, lady's lady... so to speak. I'm bi, kind of leaning tward lesbian... I'm smart though I don't act it, I'm quirky, modest (some of the time) and I'm shy at first, till you get to know me.
Hobbies: I'm a nerd of all trades. I like anime, drawing (I'm told I'm quite good at it...) running, and taking care of animals.
Anime I've seen: Refer to earlier post. No way I'm typing all that again.
Fav Movie: Grave of the Fireflies
Fav TV show: 6ft Under
Fav Food: Shrimp, but I don't limit myself to just shrimp. Any seafood will do!   ;)

Misc: I'm Bi, but I prefer women. Hi ladies!  ;) I am a Demon God.  :) I look stunningly like Deedlit from Lodoss Wars, actually. My friends have sncouraged me to do modeling, but I think it's immoral. No offense, I just don't want to be one of the women to set the standard for all the others...

On a lighter note, I like cheese, chocolate, and Lar!  ;)

To be frankly honest, I like women, but I'm so far away from beginning this kind of communication that I'll be lucky to say something to one by the end of this millenium.  :P

That what stinks about having a speech problem - you can never say anything when you want to say it.

I'm actually a very nice guy... not that people didn't know that.

There are those few though *cough*anthonyeaves*cough* that get on your nerves and want you to keep quiet.

You've probably got me beat there, too.  But I have my own domain, echoalpha.com, and I've posted my genealogy research there, and I've hand-coded every single page in Notepad.  Yup.  All 1200+ pages.

Har, I'm about as unordinary as they come.  It shall be noted in bullet points.

1) I don't care about Sports
2) Common namebrand clothing is a "bleh"
3) Collecting El-Hazard, Creating El-Hazard... EL-HAZARD.
4) I have an entire in-house network and a personal webserver... wait, looks like I'm just a geek.

AND PROUD TO BE A GEEK, BABY.

That actually describes me fairly acurately. Well, except number four. Actually, my roommate kinda has a home network which I tried to plug my Mac into. But it didn't work on OS 9. But now that I have OS X it probably would but he's already got 2 PCs and a laptop plugged into it and I think he's using my cat5 cables anyway so.....

Hey, I finally found a pic! It's a full year old, and it's terrible, But because I had my computer re-booted, I lost everything but that, which survived on my Profile. It's edited. No, my eyes aren't really that green, and I don't wear THAT much eyeliner. It was just for kicks back when I first made it. And it looks like I have flowers growing out my ass... Thus, keep an open mind before viewing it...

The head is mine, and if you're dissapointed, cool too. The only reason my friends thought I'd make a good model was cuz I was skinny and they were nice.  :P

Yeah ... that's what most of the topics on page 3 suffer from.  There's no need to bump this.  :P

Besides, it's somewhat invalidated with people who aren't actually with us anymore... (heck, check the guy who posted this initially; his account was wiped out during "Spring Cleaning"!)

Another interesting thread between us... we seem to share these similarities that aren't exact copies.  (i.e.  "20 May 20" vs. "21 May 21")  I'm not directly polish, but I share most of the traits from my mother, who came from a very polish family.

To add to it, depending sometimes on my general mood, I can be many of these.  (Particularly forgetful; much of my memory doesn't last longer than maybe 5 minutes.  :P  A rough trait to live with.)
